"Hyuckie."

Donghyuck looked towards the entrance of his bedroom, the older watching him with a tired look upon his eyes.

"Mark ah," he spoke softly at the saddened boy. He quickly opened his arms, gesturing the older to come towards him.

Mark slowly pulled himself towards the younger, setting himself down onto his lap, burying his head into his neck.

"Shh, let it out, okay?" Donghyuck whispered, rubbing his back.

"They, they're angry, Hyuckie." Mark sniffled, hugging the younger.

"Shh, don't cry, baby." Mark pouted, looking up to face the younger.

Donghyuck cooed, taking his hands to wipe the older's cheeks.

"It was a mistranslation, baby. You did nothing wrong." he spoke, caressing the sides of Mark's face.

"B-But I shouldn't of laughed at it, right?" Mark frowned. Donghyuck shook his head.

"Baby, you didn't do anything wrong, it was proven to be a mistranslation. If they're still bashing you, maybe they aren't our czennies to begin with."

"But-"

"Markie, if they were true fans, they wouldn't 'cancel' you. If they were true fans, they'd educate you on your mistake and forgive you." Donghyuck said, looking into the older's eyes.

Mark blinked, lowering his head.

"I-I'm sorry, Hyuckie."

Donghyuck shook his head once more, cupping the older's cheeks to place kisses all over his face. Mark giggling at the gesture.

"It's okay, Markie, don't worry, babe, okay?" Mark nodded, hugging the younger.

"Thank you, Hyuckie."

"You're welcome, sweetheart."

a/n I WOULD LIKE TO TALK.

Okay, so this whole cancel culture that people have been bringing upon k idols recently.

BECAUSE I KNOW I LOT OF IDOLS HAVE GOTTEN CANCELLED THE PAST 3 MONTHS

Please, they're still humans.

They make mistakes.

You can't just jump to conclusions and cancel them.

Taeyong made a mistake, but he may have not known.

In Mark's case, it was mistranslated, we know this.

Irene from red velvet. If a staff member incorrectly did a job, that resulted in herself getting electrocuted, (which has happened to other members as well as idols by the same staff) it's a human instinct to feel angered by it.

Besides, we don't even know the idol personally, we can't make assumptions about them to just cancel them.

What we can do it educate them. If they do something that hurts you, educate them.

Don't put them in the wrongs and force an apology. Showing anger towards them will only make them feel worse about the situation.

Besides, SM probably won't let them put out an official apology yet, causing them to not be able to directly address the situation. (I know Irene already has, but for nct, I'm pretty sure they addressed it indirectly.)

So please, let's stop cancel culture because it's really heartbreaking to see our favorite idols being bashed for something that can be addressed and fixed when done properly.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk and reading 🤍
