Chapter 45

The padlock snapped open! Nanginginig ang mga kamay niya habang mabilis na inaalis ang padlock sa pagka-kawit sa pinto. Mabilis niyang hinila iyon pabukas.

"Saan ka pupunta?!" Marc was already behind her.

She was about to run but Marc managed to grab her arm!

Using the metal padlock in her hands as a knuckle, she slapped her fist unto Marc's face and hit his nose, causing him step back a little while holding his bleeding nose. She twisted and pulled her arm forcefully and managed to break free and ran away from him.

The place was dark but the faint sliver of moonlight made her see through the dark.

She looked back and saw Marc running after her. She ran slowly down the stairs and hid under some stacked old wooden tables just right beside the stairs.

She heard Marc's footsteps. He was walking slowly as if trying to figure out where she was hiding. She hugged herself and prayed he wont find her.

"Francine, nasaan ka?" He asked in a creepy tone while walking past the tables she was hiding at.

"Huwag ka nang magtago, hindi ka rin naman makakatakas sakin." He was speaking like a psycho killer.

She couldn't believe that Marc has turned into a monster. Somehow, she felt responsible for his complete change of behavior. He used to be a great guy, but now, that Marc that she knew was gone.

Did I made him like this? Did he change? Or He was just showing his true colors?

Nagulat pa siya ng biglang bumaha ng ilaw sa paligid. Binuksan nito ang mga ilaw, mabuti na lamang at nasa ilalim siya ng mga patong patong na lamesa.

The table has a knitted cloth cover, kaya naman naaaninag at nakikita niya ang nasa paligid. She could see Marc at the far end of the area. The place looked like an old multi purpose studio. With two side doors and a large entrance. The place was spacious and doesn't have any partitions. At her left, was a small door with a restroom sign.

"Francine! Come out come out wherever you are!" He sounded like a creepy villain in the movies.

Napansin niyang nakatingin ito sa kinaroroonan niya. Unti unti itong lumalakad patungo sa kaniya. Lumakas ang kabog ng dibdib niya dahil sa takot. Mabilis siyang nag-isip. Kailangan niyang makagawa ng paraan upang hindi siya mahuli nito. Napatingin siya sa mga side doors. Masyado iyon malayo, tiyak na mabutan siya nito at sigurado din na may nagbabantay sa labas.

Ilang hakbang na lamang at malapit na ang binata sa lamesa na pinagtataguan niya. His footsteps got closer and closer and she could see his shoes right beside where she was hiding.

"Huwag mo nang pagurin ang sarili mo Francine. Sumama ka nalang sakin ng maayos. Wala ka na din naman choice eh."

She sat still.

"Isa." Marc started counting down.

She covered her mouth. Tears fell from her eyes. She felt really scared, but she knew she had to survive.

Mabilis at buong pwersa niyang itunumba ang lamesa sa harapan ni Marc at mabilis na tumakbo papasok sa pinto ng restroom.

The door was sturdy. Mabilis niya iyon isinara at hinanap ang lock niyon. Mabuti na lamang at maroon iyon lock mula sa loob.

Marc immediately followed and started banging the door.

"No choice bro, we need to enter from the front." Sabi ni Yanku.

Mabilis silang umikot pabalik sa harapan ng lumang studio building, at muling sumilip sa loob niyon. The two men watching the front area was chatting while drinking some beer. They looked a little bit tipsy.
