Sam
"Baby I'll call you back" Colby says and before I could say anything he hangs up I sigh and get up and head downstairs "bye sweetie, I'm heading to work" my mom says "ok bye" I say as I grab a water out of the fridge and I hop on the counter and scroll through my phone. I soon get a text saying Devyn and Tara are here so I get off the counter and head outside. "hi guys" I say as I get in the car and buckle in "hi Sammy!" they say and Devyn pulls out "so where are we going?" I ask "starbucks then to the mall" Tara says "oo ok" I say with a small smile and Tara turns on a song and I pull out my phone texting Colby

I put my phone down and chew my lips nervously as I look out the window maybe his boss yelled at him for not working? or maybe he went to the bathroom? or there was just a work emergency "Sam!!" I jump "what?" "are you ok?" Devyn asks glancing at me in the rearview mirror "yeah I'm ok" "you sure?" Tara asks turning the music down "it's just I was on a call with Colby and he hung up saying he'd call back but he never did" "Sammy he's probably working right now" I nod "but he seemed scared and panicked" I say as I remember his facial expression "it'll be ok, maybe it was his boss" I nod and look out the window again as she turns the music back up. "here Sammy" Devyn says holding my drink to me "thank you" she nods and grabs the last drink and drives away I take a drink of mine and pull out my phone again and call him getting no answer I sigh and call him again and he declines it he's probably working I think as I put my phone down and drink my drink looking out the window.
"c'mon we're here!" Devyn cheers as they get out and I unbuckle getting out as well. We get inside and walk around "where to first?" I ask "hm victoria secret?" Devyn asks after spotting it "yeah let's go!" Tara says going in the direction and we follow her inside. After getting a couple things from there we go to hot topic as we're here I decide to find something for Colby. I go to the rings and I look through them and I smile finding a silver ring with small crescent moons graved onto it and I grab it and head over to the hoodies. "you ready Sammy?" Devyn asks as they walk up to me "yep" I say grabbing a skirt as I found my size "ok let's go pay now" I nod and follow them up to the register. We leave the store going to another one and we shop for a while.

"Can we go eat now?" I whine "yes, c'mon" Devyn giggles and we go towards the exit. We out our bags in the trunk and get in the car and Devyn pulls out "where do y-" she gets cut off by my phone ringing "who is it?" she asks "the hospital?" I furrow my brows "hello?" I say confused "is this Sam Golbach speaking?" "it is" "it seems your boyfriend, Colby Brock, has been badly injured please come down to the hospital" the lady says "is-is he ok?" I ask tears forming in my eyes "come to the hospital dear, you will be given more information" "o-ok" I say a tear rolling down my cheek and I hang up "Sammy? what happened?" Tara asks "g-go to the h-hospital" I say a tears rolling down my cheek "why? what happened" Devyn asks as she turns the car around going in the direction of the hospital "c-colby-" more tears fall "Sammy he's going to be ok" Tara says seeming to convince herself that and I let out a sob.
Devyn parks the car and I unbuckle and get out and run into the hospital "Sam!" I look over seeing Aryia and he comes up to me and hugs me and I cry into his chest and he rubs my back. He pulls away and leads me to a chair "S-sam" I look over seeing Kayla and she crawls into my lap stuffing her face into my chest and I notice that Chloe and Zach are here along with Mike "w-what happened?" I ask and they all go quiet not looking at me "p-please tell me" I say more tears falling knowing it's something bad since they won't tell me "Colby Brock" a lady calls out and I get up holding Kayla and the others do as well "i-is he ok?" I ask she sighs looking at her clipboard "he's lost a lot of blood which put him in a coma and we're not sure he'll make it" my heart drops and tears brim my eyes "can-can we see him?" I ask "only two" she says "you go" Chloe says as she takes Kayla from me "and Aryia you go so you can tell him since you know the full story" Mike says Aryia sighs with a nod "right this way" the lady say turning away starting to walk and we follow.
We get to his room and the lady leaves "ready?" Aryia asks I nod and walk in him behind me I look up to see Colby laying in the bed with an oxygen mask and some wires attached to him and tears brim my eyes as I walk closer. I sit in a chair grabbing his hand "w-what happened?" I ask as I see a bruised stitch on the under part of his chin and Aryia let's out a sigh "well there was this guy, Colby said he was following Kayla so he tried taking her back to Chloe and Zach but they didn't stay where they were so he ran to the back room since the guy was chasing him claiming Kayla to be his, so he got there and thought he was safe and I was there so I told him to tell the boss what happened so he left Kayla with me as he left, as he was their the guy came in with a knife I grabbed Kayla and told her what room to go in and she ran and the guy was yelling at me asking where she was I was lying and he got mad so he grabbed me and held the knife to my throat and that's when Colby came out" he pauses as his eyes fill with tears "and uh he tried getting the guy to let me go and put the knife down he didn't listen only wanting Kayla and he'd push the knife closer b-but soon Kayla came in made the guy angrier and Mike came in Colby had a plan he said he'd give him Kayla so the guy let me go but as he did Mike grabbed Kayla and I ran Colby didn't move fast enough and the guy grabbed him.. we tried getting him to let him go because of you and the baby we were close but Colby disagreed wanting Kayla to be safe and live her life since he's already lived his, then the police finally came said to let him go and out the knife down it made him even more mad so he did it, cut his throat he fell to the ground coughing up blood, police shot the guy and by the time they got Colby he was already gone" he explains a couple tears falling "oh" I say quietly as tears fall "I'll leave you alone for a minute" he says standing up I nod and he leaves. I crawl onto the bed next to Colby putting my head on his chest his heart beat going really slow along with his breathing "please wake up Colbs" I whisper as tears fall faster.
I hear the door open but I don't bother looking up "you ok Sam?" Aryia asks "what do you think?" I whisper my voice raspy and broken he sighs "well the doctors here" "ok" I mumble "alright well, normally when this happens to someone they die in 5-15 seconds, but since his juggler vein was just barely cut he still has a chance to live but it's very slim" the doctor says "ok thank you" I mumble a tear rolling down my face and I hear the door open and close so I look up seeing the both left I sigh and put my head down and close my eyes.
After a while I hear the door open "oh Sammy" Devyn says sadly I open my eyes and look over to her and she gives a small sad smile I sigh and put my head back down "he'll be ok Sammy" I hum she sighs and leaves and Tara comes in after "Sammy?" she says as she closes the door "yeah?" I say as I close my eyes "I got you some food" I hum "please eat Sammy" "I will" she sighs and puts the bag of food down "I have to get home but please text me if you need anything and if you ever need me, I'll be happy to do anything" "ok thank you" "of course, I'll see you later bye Sammy" she says going to the door "bye" I mumble and she leaves closing the door. A couple minutes pass by and the door opens again "Sam!" I hear Kayla squeak out and she crawls up on the bed and lays on the opposite side of Colby mirroring my position with her head on his chest and I smile sadly and cup her cheek wiping her tears "is he goin to be otay?" she asks as she looks at him I sigh and don't answer her not sure myself and not wanting to lie to her "Sam??" she asks worriedly tears forming in her eyes "Kayla," I sigh and wipe the tear that fell "I don't know if he'll be ok" she nods and nuzzles her head in his chest I sigh and close my eyes. I hear movement but I don't bother opening my eyes "Sam" Kayla says and pokes my cheek I hum opening my eyes "eat!" she says holding the bag to me "I'm not hungry" she huffs and goes into the bag grabbing the hamburger "eat" she says holding it to me "no Kayla" she pouts and puts it back in the bag and puts her hand on my stomach "baby hungy" tears prick my eyes and I get up and sit in a chair and Kayla gets off the bed and comes to me crawling in my lap "eat?" she tilts her head I nod and I grab the hamburger out of it "can I has some?" she asks grabbing the fries "of course" she squeals and takes one and eats it I smile and unwrap my hamburger and eat it.

The door opens and I look over seeing a doctor "you have to leave, visitor hours are over" he says I sigh "no, tan we pwease stay?" Kayla begs "no, come back tomorrow" she whines "Kayla it's ok, we'll come back tomorrow" I say as the doctor leave she room and she pouts I kiss Colby's cheek and stand up picking her up "why can't we stay?" she asks with a frown "it's the rules Kayla, if you want to come tomorrow you can" "otay" she mumbles putting her head on my shoulder and I go to the door and leave the room. I get to the waiting room to see Zach and Chloe still here "hey Sam" Chloe says standing up "hi" I mumble and she gives me a sympathetic smile "you need a ride home?" Zach asks standing up grabbing his keys "yeah, please" he nods "c'mon" I nod and follow them out to his car. I get in after buckling Kayla in her car seat and Zach starts the car and pulls out. I put my head against the window and close my eyes as a tear falls "it otay" Kayla says and pats my head I smile slightly and wipe my tears.
"we're here" Zach says as he parks the car "ok, thank you" I say as I unbuckle "no problem" he says as I open the door "see you tomorrow!" Chloe calls as I shut the door I wave to them as he pulls out and I go inside. I shut the door with a sigh "hey hon, where'd you go?" my mom asks as I get in the kitchen "mall" I mumble opening the fridge grabbing a water taking a drink "where's Colby?" she asks furrowing her brows and tears brim my eyes "oh what happened?" she asks pulling me into a hug and I break down in her arms. She calms me down and I pull away from her and she wipes my tears "what happened hon?" she asks softly "h-he's in the hospital" she sighs "he'll be ok" she says as she wipes the tear that slipped "h-he's in a c-oma" she gasps and pulls me into another hug "I'm gonna go to sleep" I say wiping my tears "ok, goodnight hon" she says giving me a sympathetic smile I hum and go up to my room. I change into one of Colby's hoodies and I get in bed pulling the covers over me and I cry myself to sleep.
