(Azazel's POV)
It was a good day, we were all just enjoying ourselves as we continued to play the board games in the living room.
Azazel: So, when did Marina started being more isolated in her lab, Pearl?
Pearl turns to me.
Pearl: Oh she's always been like this, but I never thought she would receive this much pressure from the chancellor himself.
Dedf1sh: Sounds like a big deal, contacting an Octoling from a well known family of scientists and engineers.
Diana: She must be devoted to carry on that legacy.
Bordeaux: I worry for her. What if she pushes herself too far and... works herself to death?
I placed my hand on Bordeaux.
Azazel: That's not going to happen, Bordeaux. I'll go talk to her into having a break from all of this.
Pearl: Good luck on that.
I soon started heading for the lab.
Pearl: Oh, Azazel?
I turned my head to face her.
Azazel: Yeah?
Pearl: If she gets a bit... much, call me down there to set her senses right, okay?
Azazel: You bet.
I continued to walk down into the laboratory.

(Marina's POV)
She was setting in some coordinates to another dimension, to prove to herself that she can get this machine to work.
Marina: Come on. Work, dammit.
The portal soon closed, and then reopened, as it locked on to the set dimension.
Marina: Alright, let's see if this robot can head there and bring something back.
She activates the robot, and orders it to march into the portal. It walked into the portal and like that... it was gone.
She heads over to a computer, grabs onto a joystick, and turned the camera on that is attached to the robot.
The screen showed that the robot appeared to have teleported to a hustling city with many people around, and she heard through the audio modules that the city is referred to as Los Angeles, or LA for short.
Marina: Wait, are those... the elder race?!
It seems that the coordinates that she put into the mainframe has sent the robot to a parallel universe in which the flooding that wipe the humans off the face of the Earth 12,000 years ago never happened. [i.e., our universe]
Marina: This is so incredible! I wonder if they got good food.
She soon had the robot walk all the way to Chinatown and ended up at a place called Howlin Ray's, to which the robot's audio modules came in handy, as she heard from the people that the chicken they got there is really good.
She walks in, and orders herself enough of the medium heat sandwiches for the six of us, though getting the money needed to order the food was a challenge. Luckily, she did came across some preserved US dollars to buy the food in a time capsule she found at a dig site.
