Chapter 39

Jin stood proudly in front of Chang Ho to take his deserving award, who only stared at him with wide eyes and open mouth. Jin subtly smirked seeing him, only what Chang Ho's reaction meant. A lady came with the awards to Chang Ho who still hadn't noticed her. Jin lightly cleared his throat and Chang Ho blinked looking around.

He finally noticed the lady's presence and took one award turning back to Jin, who now had polite smile. Chang Ho smiled softly handing Jin his award. He patted Jin and hugged him, feeling proud of the boy, "I'm proud of you" he whispered in Jin's ear who smiled brightly, looking down. Chang Ho motioned him towards the mic.

But Jin waited for Namjoon, who had stopped by the table, shocked to see Jin alive and standing in front of his eyes. Jin glanced at Namjoon and Namjoon subconsciously walked to him. He climbed up the stairs, walking to Jin but Chang Ho stopped him, "Snap out of it. People are looking at you" he said slowly and Namjoon gulped before turning to Chang Ho.

He smiled at Namjoon, handing him the award proudly. The audience were in awe seeing the father son pair up the stage unaware of Jin, who was also a part of them but not anymore. Jin refused to claim them as his family anymore. He looked at them with blank eyes and waited to start his speech so that he can go down to his real family.

Once he saw that Namjoon was ready to talk he turned to the audience, starting his speech, "I'm really thankful for this award. It's such a great honor to accept this and I owe all the credits to my father-" he said sneakily glancing at HyunJae, who had a shocked face and smirked evilly in his thoughts, knowing he was going to hit the bulls eye before continuing.

"-Mr. Bang Sihyuk, I love you dad, thank you for believing in me and to my little sister, Bang Ami, I love you as well" he looked at them with loving eyes and a smile. Bang Sihyuk clapped staring at Jin with wide smile, nodding his head while Ami grinned so hard that her cheek bones started to hurt, but she still smiled brightly seeing her brother up on the stage.

Jin chuckled and turned forward again, "I'd also like to owe this award to my eomma, I hope I made you proud eomma and I love you mom" he said the last statement looking at Sophie. Jin hoped that Sophie would understand him and she did. She was glad to see Jin feeling like her life came back to her after being dead for many years.

Jin's eyes accidentally met the eyes of HyunJae's and Jin didn't take his eyes off, like he usually did years ago. He didn't look away and stared in HyunJae's eyes confidently, smirking maliciously when he noticed hurt swimming. Jin wanted him to know that he didn't mean anything to him now and judging by the face HyunJae had, he felt accomplished.

Jin smiled gratefully and stepped back to let Namjoon speak, who passed by Jin, making him feel nervous for a second. Namjoon made his speech thanking his family, his friends but the last sentence was a little weird, "I'd also like to tell a certain someone that this award also goes to you, I thank you for this and we all miss you" he said painfully.

Not wanting to create any more show, Namjoon shot a dazzling smile before stepping back. Jin smiled at Chang Ho one last time before stepping down the stage. As Jin stepped down, he was tackled in a hug by a male and a girl, making Namjoon a little hurt and jealous. He wanted to talk to Jin but the way Jin ignored him and walked away, made Namjoon sigh.

He walked back to his seat where Jiae sat with open mouth and blank Yoongi. They were soon joined by Chang Ho who was confused seeing Jin. He was thinking of what could've happened and glanced around, seeing Sophie cry staring in the direction of Jin, while Kook sat emotionless or pretending to be emotionless staring at Jin.

HyunJae too had his eyes at Jin, watching him keenly but with guilty and sad face, which Chang Ho knew the reason for, chuckling mentally, 'He deserves it' he said shaking his head. It was like karma slapping HyunJae for not treating Jin right all that time when Jin literally worshipped him and now that Jin refused to call him his father, the man felt guilty.
