"Villacampa?" one of the stupid student asked "How are you related to the owner of Union College, sir?"

"I am the brother"

 

Kung hindi ko lang napigilan ang aking sarili, isa na ako sa mga nakanganga. He look too young to handle a school. If I may guess his age, I would say he's in his early twenties. 24?

Also, the physical appearance... he is not made to be a dean. Mas bagay sa kanya ang pagiging surfer o di kaya ay football player.

"He's also the chairman of the Board, guys. So behave" the professor said

I don't know her name but I know she wanted to be recognize by the man almost beside her. Her body language says it all.

She tucks her hair behind her ear kahit hindi naman nakatingin sa kanya ang lalaki. Paunti-unti din itong lumapit. Stupid students may not noticed it but I did. I know when a woman likes a certain boy. I can enumerate their gestures para lang mapansin. 

Gumagalaw ang mga mata ng lalaki na tila ba may hinahanap. Napataas ako ng kilay nang magtama ang aming tingin. Hindi ako assuming o ano. Alam ko na sa akin nakatingin ito at hindi sa estudyanteng nasa aking likuran.

He's good looking and attractive but the moment our eyes met. I can say he doesn't have any effect on me.

Our stare lasted only for seconds before his eyes moved at my friend beside me. I heard her almost no sound gasp.

Does she know this man? Nilingon ko ang aking kaibigan na ngayon ay nakayuko na. Umakto pa itong may sinusulat kahit wala naman. This is the very first time Theia acted like so nervous. At isang lalaki pa talaga ang makakagawa nito sa kaibigan ko? 

Napatingin ulit ako sa lalaki. Hindi na ito nakatingin sa aking kaibigan. He's answering some questions from someone now.

Hindi rin nagtagal ay nagpaalam na itong umalis. He needs to be at another room to check on the students.

The professor continue discussing after the man left the room. At ang mukha nito ay sobrang pula dahil na rin sa panunukso ng  mga maiingay na estudyante.

My friends just rolled their eyes habang ako ay napatingin muli kay Theia. Wala na ang kabang nakita ko sa mukha nito kanina. She looks normal now.

"You know the guy from earlier?" I asked Theia

Nasa cafeteria kami ngayon. Dumeritso na kami dito pagkatapos ng klase. We decide to eat here and not in our usual spot. Napatigil si Theia sa pagnguya ng salad nito. Taas ang dalawang kilay na nilingon ako. 

"Don't lie" I warned

Napabuntong hininga ito at ibinaba nag tinidor sa plato. My friends did the same.

"Why?"

"What's up?"

"I know him"

"Yeah I know" I said "Bakit mo s'ya kilala? Does he know you too?" my last question was obvious. Hindi titingin ang lalaking iyon kay Theia kong hindi nito kilala ang aking kaibigan.

"We met when I was still in grade 1o..." Theia started "It was the time when my parents are still together. Nakatira kami malapit sa bahay ng mga Villacampa noon. They own the land next to ours. Me and Ashton got close. Too close that we ended up with mutual feelings. Parang kami noon na hindi kami. It lasted a year"

"The hot guy from earlier?" Penny asked in shocked

"Hindi s'ya old na ba for you?" tanong naman ni Saniyah

"He's twenty five-"

"You were sixteen and he was 23 that time?!"

"Oh! Shut it, Saniyah!" Theia hissed

Nanatili lang akong naghihintay sa susunod na sasabihin ni Theia. I thought we already knew Theia's story. But this part, I don't have any clue at all.

"Fast forward, I saw him with another girl. Sinugod ko ang babae. I throw her a hot coffee which I just got a coffee shop" patuloy nito "He got mad at me. He shouted at me in front of the crowd. He called me 'child'. I was insulted and humiliated. He told me that I'm immature... That was also the time when my parents had their first fight"

This... I know the last part. Theia told us this story of hers.

I forced a smile. Elowyn hugged Theia from the back. Theia may not shed a tear but deep inside she's crying. The first time she told us her story she break down. At ngayong naalala na naman ulit nito ang unang away ng mga magulang nito, alam kong gusto niyang maiyak. She just forced herself not to cry.

Who would have thought that the perfect family Theia once had easily vanished in just a snap?

That was the time Theia got broken. Ang akala ko ay ang mga magulang lang nito ang naging dahilan ng pagkabasag ng aking kaibigan. Akala namin dalawang tao lang ang dahilan.
