August 2019

A lot has happened since we got to the end of the school year. After new years, Charlie told me I did, well I guess what we did and I had to explain to him what I thought happened. He understood and we joked about it for a while, but I always sensed something was off. It wasn't until February when I really found out what was on his mind.

(flashback to February)

As I laid in bed scrolling through instagram while Seinfeld was playing in the background, my mind was drifting in two different directions. One side of me wanted to remember Harry and make things right with Him, but something is telling me to move on. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to stay friends with Harry, but I had this feeling that I was going to be too tempted to get back together with him if I didn't start seeing someone new.

This was when my mind shifted to someone else, Charlie. Charlie had been a really good help since London. He hasn't stopped checking in on me and making sure I was okay. He comes over every other night and we swap turns cooking dinner for each other. We loved all the same things and he had even helped me paint some canvases I wanted to fill. There was something about him that just made everything feel so right when I was around him. He was really a kind man, one I wouldn't mind bringing home to mom and lucas, or even laney.

I looked at the time on my phone to see it was almost 2AM. I locked my phone before throwing it on the pillow next to me. I watch the last little bit of the episode before closing it and putting it on the floor next to my bed. I called Stevie into the room and within seconds she was running into bed next to me. She curled her body into the corner of my bed as I turned off the lamp that was the only source of light in the room.

Just as I was reaching for the lamp, something on my nightstand caught my eye.

It was a Polaroid photo of Charlie and I from new years

I let go of the lamp switch and grasp into the photo instead. I put it up, but quickly see what's hiding underneath.
