You wake up groggily and groan—you snuggle closer to the covers—not wanting to leave your current position. You roll back and forth, trying to stop your brain from anxiously telling you to get up. You stare at the wall for a couple of minutes with an empty mind, then sit up abruptly.

'I'll see u at the pool soon l/n!' You set your phone down on your desk after viewing Mina's text, then begin crawling out of bed—you continue to crawl on the floor—not wanting to use your legs just yet. You slowly get changed into your swimsuit, then pull some clothes over it. When pulling your shirt over your head, you look down at your hand and stare at the multiple scars covering your palm. You smile gently—remembering the first time you were able to create a laser—then cringe remembering how much pain you were in.

In fact, you always seemed to be in pain when you would use your quirk—but lately, you've been able to withstand it better than you used to—you shake your head thinking about how you fainted when using your quirk during the battle trial with Todoroki.

'hey l/n are you going to the pool?'

'I'm already headed there' You respond to Kirishima's text, smiling. When you leave your house, you notice the plant on the dining room table has started to wilt due to it constantly being in the shade. You extend your hand and give it some energy—restoring it back to a healthy state.

'Manipulating light waves has become so easy now—it always was in the beginning though... for some reason, I've never had to think about how to do it—it's just happened... I can't say the same for everything else I've done so far, though.'

On your way to school, you begin to think about the different ways that you're able to use your quirk now and remember all the research you had to do beforehand. 'I'm able to melt substances by using solar energy if I absorb enough of it and release it within a specific time interval. But I can't use too much—I have to limit the amount of sunlight I use, or else I'll become overwhelmed—just like with the battle trials. My ability to blind people was pretty easy to learn—I just need to redirect the solar energy—they might think I'm releasing a flash—but I'm just redirecting light rays, so it's like they've looked at the sun for too long...' You slightly giggle to yourself as you get onto the train.

'At least I'm able to create lasers easily now—although I still get burned—I've gotten used to the pain by now. Originally, I could only create light lasers that would affect someone's vision... its almost like I'm the substance that causes the electrons of light to become more excited. At least now, I can create real lasers that can cut through things—as long as I can hold that much solar energy within myself and successfully combine it together to create enough force. It only works if there's enough sunlight though—because lasers are emissions of radiation... I guess if it was pitch black, I would be helpless...'

You get off the train and begin walking towards school, 'I can't believe I can even use light as a form of propulsion. Of course, it takes a huge toll—first, I need to create multiple lasers—which is already taxing, then I need to make sure the lasers have enough solar energy so that they heat the air to the point that it explodes... Using all that solar energy and storing it—so I really am like a battery, and it makes sense that I've been injured so often, I'll just assume that I've just built up a resistance to radiation—I hope I don't get cancer or something... maybe my quirk protects me against that?'

You continue to be lost in your thoughts as you walk through the hallways. 'I guess I'm also able to give certain substances the properties of light, but that's by doing an energy transfer... And if I transfer my energy to something else, then won't I become weaker?' you think back to the quirk test and how you were able to throw the ball. 'Maybe that's how I was able to move really fast—almost at the speed of light—when I fought Bakugo. But I haven't been able to do it since... maybe the effectiveness is based on how much mass an object takes up? After all, light has no mass, so if I move really fast, then doesn't that mean I become light itself for a moment? But that would mean I'm constantly surrounded by radiation the whole time... so I shouldn't do that often...'
