As you walk home, the smell of smoke starts to fill your nostrils, and you look to the sky worriedly. In the direction of Tatooin Shopping District, you see a huge plume of smoke and start to wonder if it was a villain attack. Normally, you try to avoid all interactions with villains, but for some reason, you find yourself walking towards the direction of the fire.

A large crowd at the entrance of the shopping district is being held back by police, and you see various heroes running in the direction. You overhear Death Arms say, "He's sticky and hard to grab, and a child with a strong quirk is struggling against him." Concern is visible on your face as you move towards the front of the crowd, trying to get a better view.

'Wait, isn't that Bakugo?' you think to yourself as you watch Bakugo struggling in what appears to be a giant mass of green sludge, flames surrounding the scene.

'I can't believe he's lasted this long I knew he was pretty strong, but at this point, doesn't he have to be a little tired. I really hope the heroes help him get out of this sticky situation soon.'"All we can do is wait for someone with a more suitable quirk!"

'What...? I know that's the most logical course of action, but I really don't think Bakugo can last much longer. Sure he's an arrogant son of a bitch, but that doesn't mean I'm not concerned for his safety. You watch intently as the struggle continues, and more explosions erupt from the sludge.

Suddenly you feel someone push through you abruptly and watch as a green-haired kid runs into the scene and throws his backpack at the sludge monster. 'Wait... isn't that Midoriya?! What an idiot! What is he doing, I can't even imagine what he's thinking being that reckless. Still, that's pretty amazing that he was able to just jump into action and without a quirk.'

You watch as the contents of his backpack spill out, and a book hits the villain in the eye—causing a slight release on his hold of Bakugo. Bakugo gasps for air and yells at Midoriya angrily as he continues to claw at the monster, trying to free his classmate.

The heroes all rush in trying to save Midoriya from his suicidal mission, but it looks like it might be too late as the villain raises his arm to attack, and smoke covers the fight. When the smoke clears, you expect to see an injured Midoriya only to find All Might standing next to Midoriya protectively. They exchange some words which you can't hear, then All Might raises his fist and punches the monster—a huge gust of wind resulting from his action.

Protected by Mt. Lady from the wind, you watch as clouds form, and then rain starts to fall from the sky. 'Holy crap! I know that he's the number one hero and all that, but I didn't realize he could change the weather... is this guy even human?'

All Might proudly stands in the shopping district smiling, giving the citizens reassurance as they all cheer for him. You glance over to see Bakugo and Midoriya both laying on the ground behind him, seemingly uninjured. You let out a sigh of relief and watch as the heroes scold Midoriya for his reckless behavior while Bakugo is praised for his behavior. Knowing that the crisis was averted and your classmates are safe, you leave the crowd and start walking home once more.

When you enter your house, your parents bombard you with questions asking if you were involved with the incident and making sure that you were safe. You assure them that you had nothing to do with what they saw on the news—though it was a slight lie, you weren't directly involved... only a bystander.

After the interrogation is over, you tell your parents that you're tired and head to your room, but you can't get the events that happened today out of your mind.

'I can't believe that those two were my classmates. Sure, Midoriya was reckless, but both of them were insanely brave. I guess being a huge nerd for heroes actually helped him, and sure, Bakugo is an egotistical jerk, but at least he can back up his claims. They're both planning on going U.A., and here I am saying 'oh yeah, maybe I'll do it' like it's not that big of a deal?!'

'I mean, the most I can do with my quirk currently is creating flashes of light, changing colors of simple objects, and reheating food without a microwave. And you're telling me that Bakugo can create explosions that engulf buildings in flames while being restricted by a villain. Midoriya too—even though he doesn't have a quirk, he still tries so hard—how did I not notice that my classmates were actually hero material?'

You sigh loudly about to give up from sheer laziness and intimidation. Then you slap both your cheeks with your hands and say to yourself, "No, I said that I would become a hero, and that's what I'll do!" You take out the piece of paper from the other night and start furiously writing on it, completely unaware of your parents standing outside your door, eavesdropping, and smiling proudly at your determination.

You lift the paper, examining what's now written on it. "Training schedule for U.A. practical exam" and underneath, a list of goals for quirk improvements and various activities to help your combat experience and stamina.

You tape the paper onto your wall and think to yourself, 'It all starts tomorrow. I can do this.'
