Unexpected Hero (BNHA Various x Reader)

When you walk out of the dorms with Kirishima, you start to think about how much your life has changed recently. Ever since you started your work study, you've been extremely busy and exhausted—not having as much time as before to hang out with your friends.

"Midoriya, morning!" 'Speak of the devil...' "You're going to your work study today, too? What a coincidence!" Kirishima continues.

"They haven't called me in for a while, so it's like I'm finally going in again. I was told we didn't need our costumes, though..." As Midoriya trails off, he begins looking at you while you nervously shift in place. Your staring contest is interrupted when Uraraka and Tsuyu join your group.

As you continue your trek, you all end up going in the same direction—eventually ending up at the same destination where the Big Three are waiting. When you enter the room, you are surprised by a large number of heroes already there.

"Nighteye, let's get started," Ryuku states, and you are still completely lost.

"Thanks to the information we received from you all, the investigation has moved forward substantially. We will now have a conference to share what information we have acquired regarding what the small organization, Shie Hassaikai, is planning." The man who you assume is Nighteye states.

"I'm completely in the dark about this... 'Hassai' what's that?" Kirishima says, and as Fat Gum starts to explain, you look over in Amajiki's direction.

"You guys are very much involved," Fat Gum finishes while glancing at Amajiki's injury.

"Well then, let us begin." Bubble girl states, and you nervously shift in your seat. You were placed in between Kirishima and Amajiki, directly across from Midoriya. 'There's so much tension in this room. I can't tell if I'm just imagining it because I feel awkward around Amajiki or if it's because there's something really bad about to happen...'

You begin to fully pay attention as different heroes go around speaking about different investigations they had conducted. You zone out slightly, you didn't mean to, but it just happened—you glance around the room—occasionally letting your gaze linger on some of your classmates when finally something is said that piques your interest.

"Don't say that! These three have super important information!" Fat Gum stands from his seat suddenly and gestures to the three of you. You immediately widen your eyes at the attention brought to yourself and slightly sink in your seat.

"I crushed tons of guys like that back in the day! And then, at Red Riot's debut fight the other day...!" Midoriya glances at you, slightly confused as to why you weren't mentioned. "A type I'd never seen before, was shot into Tamaki. A drug that destroys quirks." Upon hearing this, the heroes in the room start to become concerned and murmur amongst themselves.

You listen intently as Fat Gum explains that the shot damaged Amajiki's quirk genes, but the rest of his body did not receive any damage. The bullet that bounced of Kirishima was analyzed, and inside of it, were human blood and cells—meaning the effect was caused by someone's quirk.

It is then speculated that Overhaul is turning his daughter's body into bullets and selling them. You glance across the table to see Midoriya and Miro both looking downcast, and you feel your stomach start to turn. You aren't able to focus for the rest of the meeting, visibly shaken. Kirishima slowly reaches under the table and squeezes your hand—you feel yourself relax slightly, but you can't turn off your racing thoughts.

After the meeting, you and the rest of the work study students sit in despair, feeling helpless that you are unable to do anything at that moment. You glance at the third years and are surprised to see that Amajiki isn't in his normal anxious state—instead, it's replaced with depression. The atmosphere is grim, and you aren't sure what you should be doing at that moment.
