THIRD POV

The group of students stays huddled around Midoriya, still trying to process what had just occurred. They stay in that position, all lost in their own thoughts until they hear sirens in the distance, and Uraraka suggests that they should probably head back.

As they walk through the forest, no one speaks. Todoroki is lost in thought, repeating the phrase inside his head, 'if only I were faster, then they wouldn't have...' He clenches his fist then falls back in line with the group. When they return to the camp, their friends rush to them, happy to see them alive—they stop their fawning once they notice the somber mood and the fact that everyone's head was lowered in shame.

"Wait, what's wrong?" Mina asks, and no one responds until Iida remembers how he saw l/n leave to meet up with Midoriya earlier, but strangely they aren't with the rest of his classmates standing before him.

"Where's l/n and Bakugo?" His throat becomes dry as he waits for a response, and his friends are unable to meet his gaze.

"They were taken by the villains," Tokoyami responds, and soon more people start to crowd around as Midoriya begins explaining what happened. They listen with wide eyes, and, eventually, Midoriya leaves to be treated due to his severe injuries.

"But why was l/n taken if their target was Bakugo?" Mina asks.

"We don't know," Tokoyami responds, and everyone falls silent.

Kaminari suddenly remembers how earlier that day he, along with l/n were at the nurse's office and how severe l/n's injuries seemed at the time, "What about their injuries?"

"Bakugo was uninjured, but l/n..." Todoroki trails off once he remembers how l/n passed out due to the pain. Once again, everyone falls silent as they all think about the fact that their friends were kidnapped and there wasn't anything they could do at that moment.

"I should've stopped l/n..." Iida says under his breath while watching the emergency personnel continue to work. Soon the training camp ended with only thirteen students uninjured and two students missing. The next day news reports broadcasted the events, coincidentally hurting the reputation of U.A.

Y/N POV
You slowly begin to stir awake, feeling your consciousness drift back and forth until you're finally able to focus on the voice speaking, "I'm really grateful for all the publicity we've been getting."

'Publicity? doesn't UA try to avoid the news? Why would they be grateful... Wait, no...' You slowly open your eyes lazily—one eye before the other and take in the scene before you.

'That's right, we were at the training camp, and then we were attacked and—' Your face contorts violently as a new wave of pain washes over you, and you glance down at your hands. 'Huh? What's this? I mean, it's obviously a restraint, but... Why is it as heavy as a cinder block?! I can't keep up with the strain of this—it hurts too much, my skin is going to peel off if it hasn't already done so...' You try to adjust your body so that your arms won't be constantly weighed down, and you sharply inhale.

You fight back tears and finally look at the people standing in front of you, slowly examining each one. "Hey, don't you agree... Katsuki Bakugo?" You turn to your right to see Bakugo in similar restraints to yours, Bakugo glares at Shigaraki upon hearing his words, and you feel your body stiffen.

'The league of villains? Wait, why am I even here? Wasn't their target Bakugo? And don't they know that I'm completely useless... If that's the case, then how much longer until they end up killing me? I've got to think of something...' Strangely Bakugo is completely silent while sitting next to you.
