Unexpected Hero (BNHA Various x Reader)

After finishing talking to Kaminari, you look at all the other matchups and notice that Midoriya is paired with Shinsou.

"It's you, isn't it? Izuku Midoriya." Midoriya jumps back from Shinsou, who suddenly appeared behind him, "Looking forward to the first match."

You narrow your eyes as you listen to Shinsou's words—that under normal circumstances would be seen as friendly sportsmanship, but this time there must be an ulterior motive.

Midoriya starts to respond, but Ojiro stops him. Shinsous grins at both you and Ojiro as he walks away, sending a shiver down your spine.

"Ojiro, what's the matter?" you walk over to Midoriya as Ojiro responds to Midoriya, "Don't answer him."

Midoriya continues to look confused, and Ojiro turns to you, "l/n, do you want to come with us?"

'Uh, I really want to, but I've never actually fought someone in this kind of situation—actually, I haven't really fought at all. Also, I feel bad for Shinsou—if you know how his quirk works, then it won't be too hard to defeat him...'

"Uh... I think I'm going to actually start getting ready for my own battle. I also didn't eat lunch, so I'm kinda hungry—maybe I'll catch you guys later?"

As they wave and start to walk away, you realized you forgot to say something, "Oh yeah—good luck Midoriya!" he blushes slightly, and they hurry away.

Soon the recreational events start, and you watch the scavenger hunt then decide to walk around trying to calm your nerves.

'Kaminari, huh? What can I do against lightning? It's a source of energy and a source of light—so I can use it somehow, but I'm not sure how I'll be able to defeat him without severely injuring him... I'm not that strong, and I lack control—but he might be fine because he's able to withstand some amount of electricity to he should be able to withstand light energy, right? A laser or two shouldn't hurt, right? Maybe I should just stick to distractions and close combat—but I have to avoid his lightning...'

Your thoughts continue as you walk outside of the arena and near an area filled with trees. You don't notice Todoroki crouching down at the corner of the building, but your slight mumbling causes him to lose his focus. You walk past him and continue your way as he stands up and follows you.

"l/n." By now, you're inside the forest area. You turn around to see Todoroki staring back at you a couple of feet away.

'Crap—does he know? I don't want to get into a fight—this dude is scary.' You shiver at the idea of the two of you engaging in combat, then try to muster up all the courage you have.

"Oh, hey Todoroki, guess I was lost in thought." 'Why does this remind me of the time I got lost while running...' You try to lean on a nearby tree, but there isn't any nearby, and you do an awkward little dance as you try to regain your balance again.

He looks at you unamused, and you smile nervously. The silence intensifies—'Please, please get me out of here!' You continue to stare at him then start to swing your arms back and forth nervously, "So—"

"Did you hear what I told Midoriya earlier?" he asks suddenly.

You widen your eyes and blink rapidly, "well, see here's the thing, I was looking for Midoriya, and then I just happened to be—" you sigh, "...yes."

He looks at you, "I didn't mean for you to hear that, but it's too late now."

'Wait, what's gonna happen? Am I going to be silenced now?' you look at him, but there doesn't seem to be any malice in his eyes, 'What should I do now? He doesn't seem like the type to want my pity or my opinion...'
