Unexpected Hero (BNHA Various x Reader)

You quietly take a seat next to Midoriya, and you watch the stage with a grim attitude. You weren't sure if it was only you, but it seemed as though both Midoriya and Uraraka seemed solemn. You don't start any conversations with your classmates around you as you think about what Iida told you earlier.

'I hope Iida's doing alright—I can't imagine what he's going through right now. I mean, his brother is his inspiration for becoming a hero, and now his brother was injured. That's like seeing your idol fall, I would assume. Maybe I should try to check up on him after this fight or something...'

The crowd erupts into cheers, and Present Mic starts speaking, "It's finally the last battle of the U.A. High School sports festival! The top of the first years will be decided with this one match!" Your mouth forms into a frown upon hearing his statement.

'The top of the first years? That doesn't make sense to me—I know that lots of strong people fought and didn't qualify because they were unevenly matched...' You cross your arms and lean back in your seat, contemplating his word choice.

"Now—Start!" Immediately Todoroki releases huge waves of ice towards Bakugo, and it covers the other side of the stage. The crowd becomes silent, then deafened explosions become louder and louder—coming from the direction of the ice.

The ice cracks then flies away as Bakugo explodes everything away from him. He climbs out of the hole he dug in the ice, then charges at Todoroki—Todoroki does the same. Todoroki tries to land a hit, but Bakugo dodges and grabs Todoroki's face and shoulder.

Bakugo swings Todoroki over his shoulder, and he performs somersaults in the air. Todoroki avoids going out of bounds by creating a wall of ice. They continue to fight, when Bakugo charges at Todoroki this time, Todoroki grabs Bakugos arm—he seems to hesitate—then flings Bakugo away from him.

Bakugo becomes angry and starts yelling while also creating explosions. "If you have no intention of winning, then don't stand in front of me!" He then starts sprinting towards Todoroki.

You watch as it looks like Todoroki deflates, losing interest in the fight before him. "Todoroki! Don't lose! Do your best!" You whip your head around in surprise to see Midoriya standing up in his seat, yelling.

Bakugo then propels himself in the air using an explosion, and suddenly flames erupt from Todoroki's left side. Bakugo creates more explosions, twisting himself around—which in turn—creates a tornado while still flying at Todoroki.

You watch as Todoroki aims his flaming hand at Bakugo, then the fire goes out. Bakugo hits Todoroki with all the force of his combined explosions from the tornado and the ice breaks. You look down to see Bakugo lying on the stage and Todoroki a few feet away from him, passed out on his ice out of bounds.

Bakugo slowly gets up then starts walking towards Todoroki. He begins to yell, becoming increasingly agitated. Eventually, he grabs Todoroki's unconscious body, continuing to yell as if he's still expecting a fight. You watch as he also passes out as a result of Midnight's quirk. She announces that Bakugo is the winner.

You watch as the crowd cheers, but Bakugo still lies on the ground unconscious—it almost feels wrong to cheer. You and your classmates get up so that you can go to the field for the awards ceremony. "So that was uh interesting..." You say to no one in particular.

"Yeah... Bakugo is... intense," Sero says to you as everyone walks on to the field. You look at him, surprised someone answered, then did a little shoulder shrug. You then stand next to each other on the field as the awards ceremony begins.

"All of the first-year events for this year's U.A. sports festival have been completed. And now, we will begin the award ceremony!" Fireworks start shooting off, and smoke appears behind Midnight as something rises behind her. Three platforms rise—Todoroki and Tokoyami are on the sides, and Bakugo is in the center. In fact, Bakugo is chained to a pillar on his platform while also sporting a very fashionable muzzle.
