'Huh? This is weird—I've never heard this before...' You slowly open one eye after another, then realize that the song you were listening to was indeed just your alarm signaling you to wake up. You reach over and search with your hand to find the clock. You keep stretching your arm until, eventually, you roll off your bed.
You fall to the floor with an audible thump, and your bedding is wrapped around you like a straight jacket. 'What a great way to start my morning,' You think sarcastically, as you wriggle out of the trap. You quickly get dressed, then leave your room and see Jiro standing in the hallway. You wave to her, then the two of you begin walking to breakfast. While the two of you hadn't spent much time together before—you've gotten into the routine lately of walking to breakfast together, sometimes with Hagakure tagging along.
You start talking with Mina, Kaminari, and Sero when Mr. Aizawa walks in with an announcement. He then begins to talk about a newspaper, and everyone shouts in surprise."Yeah. A newspaper wants to do a feature on you all. Don't get too excited. The article is supposed to be about how you students are doing in the dorms you just moved into. The principal thought it would be good for your parents and guardians to see you all living happily in the dorms, so he gave special permission." Suddenly a lanky man appears behind Mr. Aizawa, who you can only assume is the reporter in question.
"I want to report on the U.A. students in their natural state in the dorms. I was told I could be here from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's already time. Hello, everyone. I'm Tokuda, a reporter. Thanks for having me here today. You don't have to do anything special. Please just show the camera how you normally live. I might ask you questions occasionally, so I'll be counting on you then." Excited murmurs fill the room, as Mr. Aizawa and the reporter seem to be discussing something.
"Iida, if there's a problem, let me know immediately. Got it?" Mr. Aizawa says, and Iida immediately responds and starts going on a rant about his duties as class representative, but the reporter interrupts him by asking what we would usually be doing during this time, and soon we all head to eat some breakfast
When you sit down to eat breakfast, you notice Mina looking a little more tired than usual, "Mina? Are you okay? You look kind of out of it..."
"It's so bad l/n. I haven't been able to sleep lately because I can't turn my brain off..." She whines and grabs onto your sleeve.
"Huh? What have you been thinking about?" She stops tugging on your sleeve suddenly then starts to fidget nervously.
"Oh, uh—just kidding, that was a joke—got you! I've actually been staying up late studying..." She starts to laugh nervously while avoiding your gaze, and you shrug your shoulders. She then begins to eat her breakfast with newfound gusto, and you watch slightly horrified, waiting to help her if she chokes.
When you're putting up your dishes after breakfast, you run into Todoroki, and you remember how he had slightly changed in the past couple of days, "Hey, Todoroki, are you alright? You seem different since the licensing exam. You didn't even participate when we fought that third year."
"Huh? You noticed..." 'Crap, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned the license thing—I mean, he did fail it... I also probably shouldn't tell him that I noticed him not participating because I wanted to slack off... But that still doesn't change the fact that I'm concerned...'
"Don't worry, l/n, it's nothing," He says with a soft smile, and you begin to squint your eyes and pucker your lips, unconvinced from his response. 'After all, didn't you guys help me when I lied about being fine...'
"Hmmm..." You say loudly, and he looks at you almost fearfully, "if you say so..." You say, then point from your eyes to his face swiftly as you walk away. After he recovers from your 'I'll be watching you' motion, he shakes his head and smiles.
