Unexpected Hero (BNHA Various x Reader)

'We should've expected something like this to happen... we really shouldn't be surprised...but man, I wish we could have something easy for once.' You slowly stand up and dust yourself off, waiting for your classmates to do the same.

You watch as Mineta races into the forest to use the restroom, only to be met by a large forest beast. The beast begins to raise its arm and starts to lower it—trying to pound Mineta into the ground, but Midoriya quickly jumps into action and saves Mineta.

You watch in awe as Midoriya, Todoroki, Bakugo, and Iida immediately jump into action. 'wait, why am I just watching—shouldn't I be able to do that too? After all, I've faced villains before... this is why I haven't been able to keep up with them—get it together l/n.'

"You're amazing, Bakugo!" Kirishima, along with everyone else, begins congratulating the four of them, but you feel something is off.

"Not yet!" You turn to Bakugo's words and look farther in the distance to see more beasts appearing.

'Think—what can you do in this situation...' You quickly glance at your surroundings, trying to give a rough estimate of how much sunlight is available to you. 'Even though the sky is clear today, this forest has lots of shade, so I'm probably only getting about two-thirds of the light available... So I probably won't be able to use lasers or create any explosions... Does that mean I'll only be able to heat objects? But I haven't learned how to do that without directly touching the object yet...'

A beast appears before you, and you're brought back to reality. You start running towards it while gathering as much heat as you can into your hands. You hop onto the foot and release heat from your palms—once you feel the dirt start to change its shape, you jump off and rush towards the other leg—this time gathering heat in your feet. Once you step onto the other beast's leg, you release heat and jump off once again.

As soon as the beast takes a step towards you, its foot crumbles, and soon the other one follows suit. You grin and begin racing towards the fallen body—knowing that with just a couple more hits, you can render the beast useless. You launch yourself from the ground—ready to land on the beast's head but feel your body being abruptly pulled away from your target.

You become slightly irritated but stop yourself once you watch another beast pound into the other beast laying on the ground—'it was aiming for me?' You look down at the tape wrapped around your body, and soon your free ride comes to a stop, and you crash into Sero as he pulls you back.

You rub your head then immediately try to get off of Sero, "Sorry, Sero." It takes a little bit for you to find your balance, but he waits patiently.

"It's no problem," he blushes slightly.

"Oh, and thanks for saving me back there."

"Of course—you should pay more attention to your surroundings... say, do you wanna work together? it'll probably be a lot easier."

"Sure!" 'Wait, should I be accepting help? Shouldn't I be trying to do this on my own? But even when I did it on my own, I still had to be saved by a classmate... I need to get my act together so my classmates won't feel like they need to help me.'

"A-actually, maybe—" Your sentence is cut off as Sero uses his tape to sling you through the forest towards another beast—you land on top of its head and begin to spread some heat onto various parts of its body—making the dirt weaker in the process.

You look around for Sero, waiting for him to back you up, but he hasn't arrived yet— 'Didn't he suggest that we work together?' You quickly jump out of the way as the beast tries to hit you with its arm and land on its back. You begin to climb towards the head—deciding that you'll have to finish this one off with or without Sero. 'This is how it should be in the first place anyway...'
