"Hey, wait! Where are you going?!"
"Sorry l/n, but you should do this on your own." You try to run after your classmates as they disappear down the alleyway, but you can't move your legs fast enough—soon you are left alone in an unknown dark alley.
'Do this on my own? What were they talking about? Why would they leave me—I thought we were friends?' You slowly sink down to the ground, wanting to leave the spot but unable to decide where to go. Suddenly you feel shivers run across your body as a cold glare pierces into your back.
You react instantly and roll to the side, just narrowly missing a knife that was thrown at you—you turn around to face your enemy and recognize him as Stain, the hero killer.
'Huh? Why is he here now? Didn't we get him? I thought everything was okay now—and why am I suddenly alone. I need to call for help or something...'
You try to take out the phone from your pocket but find that nothing is there—even your utility belt is gone—leaving you with no light source to use so that you can fight your enemy. Your heartbeat increases rapidly, and you turn around to run away from your enemy. Just as you take your first steps, you collapse to the ground, accompanied by a searing pain in your left leg. You look down to see a knife implanted in it.
You struggle to stand but find that your legs are rendered useless. Eventually, you start crawling. Soon you stop as you see Stain standing before you menacingly with his sword raised, ready to strike. You feel tears start to form in your eyes as feelings of betrayal and hopelessness race through your mind. You squeeze your eyes shut, expecting immense pain and your demise, but nothing happens.
You wake up with a sharp inhale and sit up abruptly—grasping the sheets of your hospital bed. You look around frantically and see Midoriya, Iida, and Todoroki moving around in hospital beds of their own—you let out a sigh of relief and slowly relax back into your bed.
You close your eyes and listen in to their conversation, "Were you able to sleep, Midoriya?"
"No, not really."
"I didn't think so. Me neither."
"Thinking about it now, we did something amazing, huh? Seeing an ending like that really makes you feel like it's a miracle we're alive. With my leg like this, he probably could've killed us if he wanted to."
You sit up suddenly, surprising your friends around you, "Hey, but at least he didn't right?"
"Yeah, we were obviously left alive on purpose."
"Oh," you respond to Todoroki and look down, embarrassed, and Todoroki continues to speak, this time towards Iida. "You're amazing to have been able to face him after all the murderous intent directed at you."
"No, that's not it. I..." Iida is interrupted as the door opens and Gran Torino, along with Manual walk into the room. Gran Torino walks toward Midoriya getting ready to scold him, but before he can, a very large figure walks into the room.
You look at the man wearing a suit and notice that he has the face of a dog, 'Wait... the chief of police?' A feeling of dread starts to rise in your gut, and your hands get clammy as you wait for what you can only assume will be a punishment.
"You must be the U.A. students who brought down the hero killer, right? Regarding the hero killer we arrested... he had fairly serious injuries, with burns and broken bones, and is receiving treatment under strict guard, woof."
You try to stop yourself from smiling as he delivers the serious news, but it cracks when he says woof.
"Since you are U.A. students, I'm sure you already know that when superpowers were still becoming the norm, the police attached high importance to leadership and standards and made sure quirks were not used as weapons. And then the profession of 'hero' emerged to fill that gap, woof. For an individual's use of force and power that can easily kill others—actions that normally would be appropriate to denounce—to be accepted officially is thanks to early heroes who followed the ethics and rules of the profession, woof. Even up against the hero killer, for uncertified individuals to cause injury with their quirks without specific instructions from their guardians or supervisors is a clear violation of the rules."
