"Hey, guys!" You shout to Momo and Todoroki once you see them in range. You had all decided to meet up after the incident, then you, along with Bakugo, would report what happened at the police station. When they hear your voice, they relaxed a little bit.

"l/n—you're alright.. thank goodness..." Momo says, and she smiles as you walk closer towards them while Todoroki watches you silently.

"Mm yeah, I think so..."

"Wait, l/n what about your injuries?" Kirishima asks, "Bakugo's fine but you... shouldn't you go to the hospital first?" Kirishima says.

"This? Oh, I think I should be fine... Or I should be able to answer their questions at least..." You lift your arm slowly, then begin to wiggle your fingers to try and reassure your friends, "s-see?" you say while wincing. 'Wait, this actually hurts a lot... I'll just scream internally the whole time, yeah...' You feel your eyes start to glaze over.

"l/n, I don't think you're fine," Iida says quietly.

"mm-hmm," you say sleepily, and your vision starts to fade. The last thing you hear before you blackout is your friends' voices calling out your name in concern.

The next time you open your eyes, you find yourself laying in a hospital bed. Outside the window, the sun is slowly setting—casting an orange tint in the room around you. You glance down at your arms to see them heavily bandaged and notice that a lot of the pain you were feeling earlier has turned into a dull ache.

You glance at the table next to the bed and notice a plate with some cheese cubes on it, 'cheese? Why is there cheese here?' You lean over to glance at the note next to it and immediately recognize the handwriting, 'Don't' stop twinkling, l/n.' An image of Aoyama winking flashes through your mind, and you let out a small laugh.

'I'll have to thank him later,' You prop yourself up and swing your legs over the side of the bed, 'but for now, let's figure out what's going on.'

The door slides open, and a doctor walks in, "oh, you're awake—good!" He quickly walks over with a clipboard in his hand and sits in a chair in front of your bed.

"I'm sure you have lots of questions about your friends and the situation with the police, but first..." his expression darkens slightly, "let's talk about what happened to your arms" He begins to slowly unwrap the bandages while continuing to talk.

"You suffered from first, second, and third-degree burns—the most intense ones located on your hands. While we did the best we could... there wasn't that much to work with—a lot of your skin had been completely burned off, and what was left was scar tissue..." he unwraps your hand, and you look at it in shock. It looked like a monster's hand—different tissue meshed together, with a gigantic scar placed in the middle of your palm.

"Because of the nature of your burns, there was some muscle and tendon damage in your hands—thankfully, the bones were still intact. However, you might experience numbness or no sensations at all in some parts due to the damage caused to your nerve endings."

'Numbness? Does that mean loss of pain? What does that mean for using my quirk—can I still use it? Wouldn't that mean that I'd be able to use it fully without worrying about the pain anymore?' You look at him, burning to ask more questions, but he starts speaking again.

"I know what you're thinking—if I can't feel anything, then that must mean I can use my hands without holding back, right?" You look away sheepishly, and he sighs, "that's what I thought—because it's scar tissue—it will be more affected by sunlight, it could also mean that you might lose the ability to use your hands if you push it too much. If you receive any more nerve damage—you won't be able to move your hands at all."
