"Wake up Jennifer," Colin said softly. I rolled over to face him. "I thought I didn't have filming today," I stated. "None of us have filming because today is the day of the trial," Colin replied. The thought of the trial terrified me. I broke down. "Please don't make me go," I cried burying myself into Colin's chest. "I wish you could stay home but you have to go because the judge will want your side of the story. Everything will be okay. Courtrooms have tons of security and police officers," he informed rubbing my back. "Okay," I sighed. We walked to the kitchen. I was nervous enough so I didn't want to eat but I know I should because I lost so much weight in the hospital. I settled on waffles and some fruit. After I finished eating, I went through my morning routine. I put on a black skirt and a blue top. I brushed my hair and put it in a bun. I slipped on some black heels and put on some clear lip gloss. I went downstairs. Colin was dressed up in a suit. We exchanged a glance and left the house.

When we arrived at the courthouse, I noticed some familiar faces. Ryan, Greg, Wayne, and Drew were standing outside in suits. "What are you guys doing here?" I asked. "We're her for support. The others wanted to make it but they had to do some interviews," Drew explained. "Well thanks for coming," I replied hugging each of them. "Are you nervous?" Ryan asked. "It's not really nervousness. It's more like being terrified," I answered with a half-hearted laugh. "You'll be okay," Greg assured me. I took a deep breath as we entered the courtroom. Our lawyer met us inside. "I'm certain that we'll win this case so try to relax. Your parents' lawyer may ask really personal questions but it's important to answer them so we can prove that they've done terrible things," he stated. "Okay," I replied bravely. We took our places. Colin, Greg, Ryan, Wayne, and Drew weren't allowed to sit next to me but I felt their support.

"All rise for the honorable Judge Richard Stevens who will be presiding," the court bailiff announced. Everyone stood as the judge walked into the room taking his place. "You may be seated. "What case is this?" the judge asked. "Jennifer Doran and Drew Carey vs Linda and Tom Doran your honor," the court bailiff answered. "The defendant may step forward," the judge stated. My parents' lawyer stepped forward. "Linda Doran had an unplanned pregnancy. Jennifer Ann Doran was the result. Linda and Tom Doran struggled to provide for her as they were unemployed. Jennifer has done nothing to show her appreciation for them. Your honor, may I question Jennifer?" he asked. "You may," the judge answered. I took my oath. "What is your full name?" my parents' lawyer asked. "Jennifer Ann Doran," I answered. "What is your birth date?" he questioned. I told him. "How do you like living with your parents?" he inquired. "I despise it. They have abused me since I was born," I answered angrily. "When you say they abuse you, what do they do?" he asked. "They starve me, they hit me, they have tried to kill me multiple times, they forced me to watch them murder my relatives, and they have cut me. Also, they are drunk for often than not," I answered. Everyone gasped. "Do you have proof of the abuse?" the lawyer asked. "We have pictures," I answered. My lawyer handed them to the judge. The images popped up on the screen. Everyone gasped and some began to cry. "I have no further questions," my parents' lawyer said sighing. He knew that there was no hope for my parents.

Our lawyer stepped forward. "As you have heard, Jennifer's parents have tried to kill her multiple times. Describe one of the most recent times," he instructed. "As some of you may know, I recently became a cast member on the show Whose Line Is It Anyway. My parents posed as secret admirers sending a box of chocolate to my dressing room. Little did I know that the chocolate had rat poison in it. I had to stay in the hospital for two days," I informed them. "How do they feel about you being a celebrity?" he asked. "They're jealous. They feel I don't deserve to be successful. They have stolen a fair amount of money I earned doing television and movie roles," I answered. "I have no further questions your honor," my lawyer told the judge. The jury went in a separate room to deliberate. "You did great honey," my lawyer whispered. I gave him a small smile.

Ten minutes later, the jury came back into the room. "Has the jury reached a verdict?" the judge asked. "Yes. We the jury find Tom and Linda Doran guilty," a woman answered. "I sentence them to life in prison on account of murder, child abuse, emotional distress, and theft," the judge announced hitting the desk with a gavel. The crowd applauded.  Policemen put handcuffs on my parents.  "You haven't seen the last of us," they screamed as they were dragged out the door.  I pray that day never comes.
