I woke up on Greg's bed. I guess I survived the night which is great because today is my birthday. I'm officially eighteen. I ran downstairs to find Greg drinking coffee in the dining room. "Good morning birthday girl! Happy birthday," he said hugging me. "Thank you so much," I replied hugging him. The chef brought out french toast, cinnamon rolls, bacon, hash browns, fruit, and chocolate milk. My eyes widened. "Thank you so much," I said giving him a hug. He looked like he appreciated it but was slightly embarrassed. I sat down and we piled food onto our plates. I poured myself a glass of chocolate milk and took a bite of french toast. "This is amazing," I exclaimed. "Fred always does an excellent job. He's pretty modest as you saw," Greg replied. The food was amazing. I got ready for the day. I brushed my teeth and took a shower. I used warm vanilla shower gel. I love that smell. I washed my hair and dried myself when I got out of the shower. I put on a cute white dress, peach-colored shoes, and a thick flowery bracelet. I brushed my hair and put on some lip gloss.

As I walked downstairs, I heard the doorbell ring. Greg answered it. "Thanks for coming on such short notice. I would like that desk in the master bedroom please. Jennifer would you mind showing them to my bedroom?" he asked. "Not at all. Follow me please," I said. The three of us walked upstairs into Greg's bedroom. I turned around and saw that my parents were dressed up as furniture deliverers. My heart raced and I leaned against the security button to push it so I wouldn't look suspicious. "What are you doing here?" I asked them angrily. "We're just getting a little revenge that is eighteen years too late," my mom sneered. "Whatever you do, just leave Greg out of this. He's done nothing wrong," I said firmly. "Oh we won't," she replied. My dad pulled out a huge knife. He walked towards me. Time seemed to be in slow motion. He stabbed me in the stomach and made a slash mark across it. I screamed out in pain. My mom clamped her hand over my mouth. "Talk and you're dead," she said. I knew she wasn't kidding. She pulled out a gun and shot me in the chest. The pain was unbearable. My parents ran out of the room. Security ran upstairs and I heard gunshots followed by two thumps. "We got them," the head security man announced.

A red stain was spreading across my white dress. "Help," I said as loudly as I could. Greg and a security man ran into the bathroom. "We need an ambulance," the security man yelled. Greg slid his arms under me and carried me downstairs. The security man followed us with a bunch of first aid supplies. "Are you alright?" Greg asked. "I'm as right as crimson rain," I answered. I knew he meant well but it just came across funny. More security people arrived at the scene and immediately pressed towels against my wounds. "It hurts," I moaned. Greg held my hand. "I know sweetheart but we have to do this," he said. The security man whispered something to Greg. "Tell me about one of your favorite memories of the saddle club," Greg said. "Well for the episode where my character learned to canter, Keenan and Sophie had to fall of a cliff so I could rescue them by cantering back to the stables to get help. Obviously, they couldn't be in danger so we used a green screen mat. Keenan and Sophie had to lay down on their stomachs and pretend to be falling. It was so funny," I laughed. I coughed from laughing so hard. There was blood on my hands.  It's hard to breathe.   I know there's something really wrong that they're not telling me. "I really love you guys," I said a tear falling from my eyes. "We love you too, more than you can imagine," Greg replied. "If I don't make it, I want you to know that I love you guys so much and that you've brought some much joy to my life," I said starting to cry. "You're not going anywhere. I know that you've been though way too much but you need to hold on. We need you. I need you," Greg replied crying also. I've never seen him cry before. I heard the sound of sirens in the background and everthing went black.

Greg's POV

Jennifer passed out. Brandon, my head security man, put his hands on her wrists. "She's still alive," he said. I ran my hands through my hair. Paramedics and policemen burst through the door and put Jennifer on a stretcher. I got in the back of the ambulance with the paramedics. "What happened?" they asked. "She got stabbed in the stomach and shot in the chest," I answered not wanting to believe what was happening. They put pressure on the wounds and starting taking vital signs. "Her blood pressure is low and she's developing a fever. She needs to go into surgery immediately," one of the paramedics informed and called the hospital. The other inserted and IV into a vein and gave her more oxygen. We arrived at the hospital and doctors ran her into the operating room. A nurse took me upstairs to an intensive care room where Jennifer will she will be put if she makes. What am I saying? Of course she'll make it. She has to.

I knew I had to inform Colin of what was going on. I took out my cellphone and dialed his number. "Hello?" Colin answered cheerfully. "Hi Colin it's Greg," I stated. "Oh hi Greg. What are you and Jennifer up to?" he asked. "That's the thing. I don't know if you were able to see the news but Jennifer's parents escaped from prison. Today, they showed up at my house disguised as furniture delivery people. I didn't suspect anything because I ordered a desk recently. Jennifer showed them to my bedroom and they stabbed and shot her," I answered anxiously. I heard a deep breath. "Is she alive?" he asked hesitantly. "She's in surgery as we speak. I don't know anything else," I answered. "Ryan, Chip, Jeff, and I have to go on soon but we'll be on the next flight to Los Angeles when we're done performing. Hold the fort," Colin pleaded. "Will do. Bye," I replied hanging up. I called Robin, Jonathan, Brad, and Drew since they're still in town. They arrived promptly at the hospital. Grave expressions were on their faces. "I cannot believe that this happened," Robin said. "I didn't know that they would go this far to get her," Brad stated. "Do you know what happened to them?" Jonathan asked. "They were shot down and died," I answered. "As bad as it sounds, I'm glad they can't hurt her anymore," Drew replied.

A doctor walked into the room. "The surgery was successful. The bullet was removed and the stab wounds were stitched up.  She's really lucky.  The bullet was only a few millimeters from her heart Jennifer lost a lot of blood. We had to do a transfusion. She's not out of the woods though. We had to re-stitch her appendix stitches because a knife slash opened it up. There's a high risk of infection. We have reason to believe that there's an infection because she has a fever and low blood pressure. We've done all we can do. We just have to see how her body reacts," he said. "Thank you. I appreciate it," I replied. Two nurses wheeled Jennifer into the room. She was in a hospital gown and blood was washed off her skin. She looked like she was on the verge of death. Our hearts sank with despair. Robin walked up to Jennifer. "Hey kid. I've heard of living an action-filled life but this is ridiculous. Please take all the time you need to heal and we love you more than you can ever know," he said wiping a tear off his face. "Would you mind leaving me alone for a minute?" I asked. "Of course not," they answered leaving the room. I took a seat next to Jennifer's bed. "Hi Jennifer. I know that if you can hear me, you'll listen to me. I have something to tell you. I am so sorry. I had no idea that your parents were the furniture delivery people. You have a right to hate me and I wouldn't blame you if you do. You're such a talented performer and an amazing person. You brighten every day. None of us can imagine life without you. Please stay with us," I said. A few tears escaped my eyes.  She always has melted my heart with a smile.

Hey guys!  Sorry to leave you hanging but I think the chapters will work out better this way if I leave it here.  Sunday was my birthday so I decided to take a day off of writing to hang out with my family.  I had a great day.  I will be busy on Wednesday because I am performing at my school's solo and ensemble competition for vocal performance so it may slightly impact my update schedule temporarily.  Thanks for everything!

Lots of love,
