I have go get those eyelights back somehow. Reaper looked so happy with them, even through the tears. I've never seen his smile so bright. But they disappeared into the darkness as soon as they appeared.
"Raven im taking your father put of town this weekend. Can I trust you not to destroy the house or do I need to call Goth to stay with you?" I tapped my foot impatiently.
Raven looked up. "You're taking dad out? Isn't it usually the other way around?"
"Can I leave you alone or not?"
"Sure fine I wont ruin anything." He shrugged and typed away on his phone with a dorky smile. Probably talking to that little boyfriend of his.
"Good. I'm gonna pick your father up from work and we wont see you until Monday." I headed out dragging the suitcase with me. My soul has been protesting all this running around planning things to hide it from Reaper. Ill need a day or two after this vacation.
Reaper walked ot of rhe building and blinked. He clearly didn't expect to see my car. He opened the door an slid in. "What's the occasion baby?"
"We're going out of town this weekend." I smiled sweetly and drove off.
His sockets shone but no lights. " But I have work on Fridays?"
"Already talked to your boss. Youre clear for tomorrow and Monday." I hummed heading out of town.
He leaned back in his seat. "Okay. . . So where are we going?"
"It's a surprise."
He blinked. "What's with all the sudden secrets Love?"
"You'll see."
We spent the next three days in one of the most beautiful places ever. The sunsets were amazing. Hiking sure took is toll on me... The canyons were so cool. Reaper always liked traveling and seeing new places.
. . . But no eyelights. This entire trip was for nothing. No lights. And we leave in the morning...
Come on Geno don't think like that? I huffed and just watched Reaper. He looked so happy.
Reaper hummed and smiled. The setting sun framed his face and made it look like he had a halo.
"Did you have fun?" I asked suddenly.
He looked over and chuckled. "Geno I always have fun when I'm with you."
"That was cheesy." I shoved his shoulder gently.
He full out laughed that time and sighed. "When we got here I was nervous. Its such a big place. I don't really like big places. But I'm with you now. And I'm not alone. And I don't have to rely on Mom to come back. I have someone way better." He looked up his sockets shinning bright with two small blue eyelights.
I gasped and jumped up. "I did it!!!"
He looked confused as he stood up as well. "Did what?"
I grinned and swept him off his feet for a kiss. "Does it matter?"
His face flushed as he chuckled nervously. "What's gotten into you Geno?"
I peppered kisses all over his face. "I love you."
He giggled. "I love you too? Can I stand up now?"
I gave a playful smirk and pecked his chin. "No."
"Geno!" He pouted his eyelights shimmering. They're beautiful. He's beautiful.
"You're beautiful." I pressed a soft kiss to his neck. "I'm so glad I chose you."
His eyes shone brighter blue if that's even possible and his face flushed even deeper. "I'm glad too."
This is what heaven is going to feel like. This moment right here. Perfection. Just the two of us. And that's okay. I let him stand and just hugged him tight resting my chin on his shoulder.
He wrapped his arms around me and hummed. Silence swept over us. We didn't need to talk. It just felt nice and calm and peaceful.
"This has been dreadfully boring. I hate to say but I miss your brothers hating on me." Reaper snickered.
I burst into a fit of giggles. " You're right. Lets go home."
"Good idea."
