"Uh guys..?" Dec's voice broke the haze of sleep.
I groaned softly. "What?" I opened one eye and shot up. "This isn't our bedroom."
This was a giant white room. I couldn't see an end though. It was strange yet familiar...
"No kidding.." Dec dusted himself off and nudged Club. "Wake up sunshine."
Club mumbled something and opened his eyes. "Where are we?"
"Dunno..." I mumbled.
"Fresh?"
"What is it Dec?" I turned to look at him.
He blinked. "I didn't say anything."
Club was sitting up now. "Uh. Guys." He pointed.
There was a small form. Two actually. The first was turned away as if trying to hide. The second was shaking lightly. He looked suspiciously like...
"Deccy..." I breathed out.
Little Dec teared up. "I-I don't understand..."
Dec paused. "We aren't seeing things right..?" He asked softly.
Club shook his head in response. "No way..."
The first figure lifted his head. His eyes were bright green and brimming with tears. His right eye was shaped like a...
"Club too.." I whispered.
Little Club flinched. "How do you know my name?"
Little Dec jad finally snapped out of it. "Are you... from the future? Does that mean my Fresh is still alive?"
"Oh geez..." I muttered. What am I supposed to say to him. I pulled my sleeves down to hide the scars. "Kiddo–"
"Yeah. He's alive little me." Dec responded first.
Little Dec nodded. "Where is he..?"
Dec, Club and I shared a look. "Its– complicated..." I hissed out.
Little Club shuffled a bit. "Slate expects me at dinner by 6."
Club blinked snd finally got off the ground. "Little one. Frankly, Screw what Slate thinks."
Little Club's eyes widened before he giggled. He found that funny for some reason.
"Alright little Dec," I sat on the ground, "tears don't look good on you."
Deccy sat down beside me. "Obviously I have a Fresh so it'll be okay. "
Little Dec sniffled. "Yeah... I just..." he hiccuped, "I really miss him."
"Oh kiddo–" I was cut off by a shrill scream. I jumped to my feet.
Dec was up in a second as well. "Club stay with them."
I turned on my feet to look for the sound. It sounded like a child. I saw a shape in the distance. My soul twisted. If this is what I think it is... "Stay here."
"But–" Club started. Dec mimicked him.
"Please?" I whispered.
Dec shuffled snd then sat back down. He pat little Dec, who was holding his head, on the back.
Little Club shuffled. "Is it bad?"
"It might be..." I mumbled and headed over slowly.
The child, dressed only in basketball shorts and a tank top, curled in on himself more. He had a familiar X shaped scar on his shoulder... only this one looked brand new. "Don't touch me!!" He cried.
I held my hands up. "Hey hey. Look up at me."
"No!" He hid more.
"Fresh. Look at me." That felt strange to say.
He tensed and peaked out. He was trembling like a leaf. "Who are you..?"
I sat down in front of him with a sad smile. "Well I'm you."
He blinked and sniffled looking up. "That's impossible..."
I rolled my sleeve up to the shoulder. "That look familiar?"
He winced and glanced at his own burn. "B-but..."
"Hey. Even if I was lying do I look like I wanna hurt you?" I asked softly.
He paused and then shook his head. "Hurts..."
I gave a sympathetic look. "Oh kiddo... Mind if I pick you up..?"
Little me sniffled and then held his arms out.
I stood and lifted him into my arms carefully. He was so light. He clutched onto my jacket with an iron fist. He buried his face in my shoulder.
I sighed and shifted him. I turned to head back to Dec and Club.
Clubs eyes widened as I got close. "Is that–"
Dec looked incredibly uncomfortable now. "Oh God..."
Little Club was confused. "Who is he..?"
Little me whimpered and held on tighter.
"Hey. Hey its okay kiddo. They're not bad. I promise." I whispered.
You could practically see the gears moving in Little Dec's head. "No..."
All three of us adults looked at him. Dec gave a look at me as if to ask 'what do i do?'
Club grabbed for Little Clubs hand. "Coms on kid. Let's let them talk okay..?" They walked a little ways away.
Little Dec squeaked. "No!"
Little me gripped on tighter and looked up ever so slowly. "Deccy..?" His voice was so small.
Little Dec took a shaky breath. "Fresh?"
Little me loosed his hold and looked over his shoulder. He was still shaking...
Dec and I shared a look. I sighed and sat down carefully.
Little me gripped on tightly again as fresh tears pricked his eyes. "I-i.."
Little Dec squirmed out of adult Dec's hold. "Lemme go!"
Little me sucked in a shaky panicked breath.
"Hey. Its alright.." I whispered rubbing his back.
Little Dec finally got loose and stopped one step away. "It is you..."
Little me sniffled. He obviously didn't want to be seen like this. If I could shield him from it I would.
Bright light began to filter in. Panic filled my soul. I clutched little me tight. "No! No you can't send him back!"
Little me buried his face in my shoulder again. "I don't wanna go back!!!"
Little Dec was moving again. He reached to grab little me. "Fresh!!!"
I jolted upright in bed. Tears fell down my face.
Dec sat up beside me. "Oh Fresh..."
Club was up as well. He rubbed my shoulder. "Starlight..."
"It's not fair!" I buried my face in Clubs shirt.
It's not fair...
