Refresh: Extras

June 7th

Early after Fresh's rescue. Also in 3rd person. Trying a new format.

   June 7th was a bad time for the Queen family. It was once a day supposed to be for fun. An exciting trip for the adults to unwind and the kids to have fun. And then the day went sour.

   Fresh went missing. And he was never found. The family always seemed gloomy on June 7th. It was a bad day. To many bad memories.

   When CQ walked downstairs and saw the calendar her heart sank. June 7th. Oh no. She sank into a gloom and went about her morning. She made coffee.

   The whole house seemed a bit down as they joined CQ in the kitchen. Everyone knew what day it was. Everyone was just so used to the June 7th routine that they forgot.

   They forgot. . .
  
   "Ma..?" The voice was soft and cracking with tears.
 
   CQ looked up. All at once the last three months snapped back into her mind. "Oh. Oh Fresh..."

   She could see the look in his eye. He had seen the message written on the calendar. He wasn't okay.

   The family all seemed a bit more turned on suddenly. Energy surged through the room. Oh. Oh! Fresh is here! They forgot!

   "Are you okay Fresh..?" Geno was the first to ask.

   Fresh paused. "Not really..." He mumbled.

   "Fresh. . ." Asy sighed softly. "I'll make some eggs."

   CQ stood and took her youngest into her arm. He was so tall. He grew up without her. He grew up with that monster. It wasn't fair.

   "Ma...please don't cry..." He whispered as his voice cracked.

   "I know... I know..." CQ pat Fresh's back. "Sit down with me okay?"

   Fresh nodded. He sat at the table. He seemed even more quiet than usual. This day was bad for him to.

   Hopefully his day would be better soon. Fresh was safe now. He was here. He wasn't with HIM anymore. He'd be okay.

June 7th was no longer a dark cloud.
