"I'm nervous." Crayola muttered paving back and forth. He was already in his costume.
"You're making me nervous...", Seven muttered buckling his boots. "Please sit down!"
"I can't! This is our biggest show yet! There are talent scouts here Seven! If we don't preform well–"
"It'll be fine! Crayola. Who wrote this play?"
Crayola sniffled and wiped his eyes. He had refused to do make up yet because he was crying. "Us..?"
"Who spent weeks making the costumes and sets from scratch?" Seven asked.
Crayola sniffled again. "We did... "
"Who memorized every single line and three different songs?"
"We did!"
Seven smirked playfully. "Who almost blew it because he got stuck in the hospital last week?"
Crayola snorted and shoved his brother. "You did that!"
"Darn right I did! Now lets go get make up. You're a mess." Seven chuckled and dragged his brother off.
Crayola sucked in a breath clutching the prop sword close. Almost. The curtain barely muffled the chatter on the other side. How many people were out there?
Seven smiled and gripped his hand. "We got this."
Crayola squeezed tightly. "Yeah. We do."
The curtain rose. The music began. And the first song started. The song of beginnings. The young twins go through child hood.
And the song sours. Seven's character is cursed. The twins split. The song goes somber and fades away.
The play went on better and better. The music was perfect. The lights. The lines. And to the final scene.
"Please brother! Grab my hand!" Crayola cried with tears and fake dirt smeared on his face. "Please!"
Seven snarled but hes barely holding onto the rope. He slips.
Crayola lurches to grab Sevens hand. Oh no. Hes freezing up. That wasn't supposed to happen.
Seven looks panicked for a second. He cools himself. "B-brother..?" They skipped a few lines. But they can pull it off.
Crayola shakes himself.. "I thought I was going to lose you..."
Seven actually gets choked up at the desperation in the younger's voice. "I'll never leave you...."
Crayola laughs with tears dripping off his face. "I know."
The curtains begin to close. Applause erupts. Crayola pulls Seven up. "That was dangerous!!!"
"Hey! It worked it didn't it?"
Crayola shoved his brother and huffed. "Come on. Lets get down."
Their dads congratulated them. Jessie and Clover both looked proud. Their uncles and cousins all looked the same level of interested and proud. Little Kage climbed Crayola's leg. "Good job unc Yola!"
Seven chuckles. "What about uncle Even?"
Kage giggled. "Good job unc Even!"
Club blinked. "Hey boys. " He nudged Seven and pointed.
Seven almost lost his breath. He grabbed Crayolas arm and dragged him over. "Mr. Thiele sir. You're like my idol... Your plays are amazing."
Mr. Thiele is a talent scout. He chuckled. "Please you flatter me. You boys sure have some talent!"
Crayola cleared his throat. "ThAnk you sir." His voice cracked and he flushed.
Mr. Thiele chuckled. "How would you boys like to be in a professional cast. I'll pay for schooling as long as you come straight to me."
Crayola and Seven shared a look with wide eyes. "Really!?"
Mr. Thiele smiled. "Yup. Really."
Crayola nodded eagerly. Seven tried to calm himself. "Yes sir of course!"
Mr. Thiele smiled. "Good. You boys have a bright future."
