Dr. Jean

   There was a knock. Dec groaned snd rolled over. He was up with the twins half the night. Club pressed a pillow to his head. He worked late yesterday.

   "I got it..." I murmured. I slipped out of bed snd pulled my slippers on. It was 8 AM. Jessie anf Clover would be at school. Thank God Jessie had a license.

   I opened up the door. "Hell– Dr. Jean?" I blinked.

   Dr. Jean gave a calm smile. He was in a blue button up and khakis. "Hey kid. Or. Not really a kid." He shrugged. "I was in town for a medical convention and I've been meaning to look you up."

   "Me? Why?" I furrowed my brows confused.

   "Kid. You were abused for years and I never noticed. It's the worst memory of my life." Dr. Jean frowned.

   I blinked. "Oh..." Dr. Jean was always kind to me. I don't like to think about those days but... Dr. Jean was something good from back then. He was almost like a big brother. He reminds me of Geno.

   I shook my head to clear it. "Would you like to come in?"

   "Of course. If im not a bother." He smiled.

   I nodded and opened the door wider. "My twins and husbands are asleep. Would you like coffee..?"

   "No thank you. Twins? And husbands? With an S?" He raised a curious brow.

   I flushed. "Yeah uh..." I rubbed the back of my neck.

   "What are they like?" He asked sitting on the couch.

   I blinked and smiled. "Well Club is nice. He works a lot. Hes got three younger siblings. My brother Error is married to Clubs brother Heart. And then Decans I've known since before. Hes sweet and caring." I hummed softly.

   Dr. Jean laughed softly. "You must really love them. I remember feeling that way before my wife passed."

   I blinked. "Mira passed away..?"

   "Sadly yes. Three years ago. Breast cancer." He sighed with clouded over eyes. "Our daughter took it hard."

   "I'm so sorry Dr. Jean." I whispered.

   "Please. Just call me Lucas." He sighed.

   I made a face. That's like calling a teacher by their first name. "No. I think Dr. Jean is fine."

   Dr. Jean laughed. "Of course you would say that. So about these twins?"

   "Oh yes. Crayola and Seven.  They're turning one soon. If one sleeps through the night the other doesn't.And then there's Clover. Shes five. A little firecracker too. And then there's my oldest. Jessie. Hes 16. Hes the sweetest boy." I smiled.

   "Wow. Four kids is a lot." He chuckled.

   "They're a handful. But its alright." I smiled.

   He nodded and sighed as his phone rang. "I should go. My partner is waiting for me."

   "Sure. Go ahead. It was nice seeing you Dr. Jean." I smiled.

   "Nice seeing you too kid." Dr. Jean pat muy shoulder. "You should let me meet your family sometime."

   "Of course." I closed the door as he left. It was nice to see him again...
