Decan's grasped the air for Fresh. He was gone. Completely gone. Dec was all alone.
His soul sped up. He wanted to be at home. He wanted to be in his bed. "F-Fresh?" he called gently. No response.
Decans hurried down the rest of the stairs. Thunder boomed outside. He jumped.
The basement was small. A light flickered in the corner. Nothing looked particularly off...
There was a work bench in the center. On the bench was a piece of paper and a key.
Deccy picked up the key and the paper.Run like hell.
That's all the paper said. Deccy listened. He turned tail and sprinted back up the stairs.
He heard footsteps creak after him Oh no. Oh none of that. Dec pushed himself faster.
He took off through the winding halls. Left right left left right right. Why did this place have to be so big!?
The dim red light didn't do anything. This place was terrifying.
And then came the screaming. Loud anguished cried. He couldn't hear any specific voices. Just screaming. Screaming and crying.
The doors began to slam. Open shut. Open shut! Louder and louder.
Thunder rolled and lighting lit up the windows. The footsteps creaked on the floorboards. They sounded like they were walking but they always stayed right behind him.
Doors. Steps. Thunder. Screams. Decans thought for sure this is where he died.
Deccy could see the front door. He skid to a stop and shoved the key in the hole. He didn't turn around. He couldn't. He wouldn't!
The door swung open and he stumbled into the rain. He turned and saw a face in the dood. His soul nearly shattered.Decans is afraid of a lot of things. Poor boy.
