I was glad to go home early. The storm had knocked out the power and everyone was sent home. Good. I didn't like my boss anyway.

Jess was on a trip with and won't be back until Friday. Club was with his siblings out of town. I had the apartment go myself.

I opened up the door and paused. Music? Why was there music?

A lot of emotions hit me. Curiosity won out. I headed deeper inside the apartment. Is that a violin? I don't know anyone who plays...

I turned and there in the hallway was Error. His violin was sleek and black with red and blue markings. It was almost as beautiful as the music it created.

The music was soft and sad almost. It ebbed and flowed and had me on my toes. It told a story. A story of sadness and pain and then the end had me stepping closer.

It ended on a soft low note. A quiet resolution. I held my breath a moment. It was beautiful.

My trance broke. I dropped my bag and grinned. "Error. I didn't know you could play!"

Error jumped and dropped his bow. "Fresh? What are you doing here?" He bent to pick it up with a bright flush on his face.

"Work was canceled. The whole building lost power. But back to you." I picked up my bag and set it on the table. "Why are you here anyway?"

"No one else knows... I mean... Geno does." He shrugged and put his violin in his case. "S'not like I'm good."

My mind wheeled. "What? Error you're amazing!"

"Of course you think so." he rolled his eyes.

"No seriously! You had me speechless." I tried to grasp for words. I had to get him to understand.

"It's just a hobby." He muttered.

"Just a hobby. Like your sewing? Which you are also amazing at." i grabbed a glass and filled it with apple juice.

"It is! I'm literally the least likely to like this stuff. Geno sure, You totally. Me? No way. " he huffed

"Error. You're really good." I sighed. "Play me something."

He looked reluctant. He sighed and eventually pulled it back out. Hiw music once again filled the apartment. It was lovely.

By the end I felt a sense of peace I hadn't felt in ages. I clapped enthusiastically. "You should play more."

Error scoffed as he put his stuff away. "Sure whatever."

If Error started to play more often he wouldn't say it was because of Fresh.
