Arc: Level C [Continued]

April 13- Day 13C

David studies me for a couple of seconds before he slowly nods his head. "We're not completely sure. Though the evidence we have points at them."

"I... see... Then whatever you guys were talking about during the meeting. About their demands, what's that about?"

"Ah, I never had the chance to discuss it with you since it's been a while we had a decent conversation, though," he gets up and walks over to his desk as he grabs a couple of documents, then walks back to the couch and continues, "there have been some things Percent purposely left behind after their attacks."

    "Like what?"

"Messages. We never disclosed it to the public, but they would leave behind messages and patterns."

"Is this something you've noticed, or the team as a whole noticed."

He lets out a laugh as he looks at me. "A little bit of both. We've all noticed the same percent symbol they leave behind after every attack. Though some of the messages, I kept to myself."

    "W-why?"

He grabs a sheet of paper, and walks next to me. He bends down, and shows me what's on it. "Read it."

I clear my throat before I start. "For those who see this message, this is number one. The one beginning to a series of events that may never be done. If you want the suffering to end, heed to our warnings. For you have no choice, either take note or be daring. Our first request, if you're still listening, is to allow Elites from A to Z to be free. If you can take this demand, then you'll be ready for the next three." I continue to stare at the paper for a couple more seconds before I look at David. "Well someone's quite the poet."

He chuckles. "Well they don't only deliver messages this way. The others have been numbers, codes, not just poems."

"Was this.... the message left at my family's scene?"

"No, it wasn't. Actually, they never left a message when your family was killed by them."

"I see," I answer as I sigh. Suddenly, I get a text notification, causing me to look at my phone.

It was sent by Nicky, the waitress from the Den. The message read, I'm free now! Here's my address: 1547 Fairside Street, New Sardon City.

She lives in New Sardon just like Kaiden... interesting.

    "What's up?" David asks.

I quickly put away my phone as I look up at him. "Oh, it's just a lead I have on this Den case."

"Oh really? Tell me about it? How's it going?"

"Ah, well since Bill is no longer able to give us information, we needed someone else to provide us with information about the Den and it's other institutions."

"So you think there are more of these institutions around the province?"

I nod my head. "That couldn't have been the only one. And besides, I remember when talking with one of the waitresses, she mentioned how she worked in the other institutions. So luckily, she gave me her card," I grab the card from my pocket and hand it to him, "so I was able to contact her. She just sent me a place where we could meet up."
