Arc: 7/42 [Continued]

July 7- *14 years ago* Recovered Memory

I quietly sit on my bed as I hear the door shut close downstairs. "They're finally gone," I whisper.

I slowly get off the bed, and open my balcony door. I look outside, first to the left, then right. It's quite sunny; it is around 2 after all. Leaving the balcony door open, I walk back inside and sit on the floor.

    "Hopefully he'll come back today-"

"You're waiting for me?" I swiftly turn around and see Zarith sitting on the balcony bars. He showed in his adult form- I guess you could call it.

I quickly get up and run to him. "You're gonna fall like that."

He chuckles as he quickly transforms back into seemingly a child.

"Why do you do that?" I ask.

"Why not? Isn't it more comfortable for you this way?" he says as he looks around my room.

"Mhh, I don't mind!" I exclaim. I quickly run over to my door, and signal for him to follow.

He does so as I enter Echo's room. "This is my sister," I whisper as we walk up to the crib. She slowly opens her eyes as she looks over at Zarith. He blankly looks at her, then walks away.

I watch him suddenly exit the door, quite confused. I look back at Echo and lightly tickle her. She laughs as a response. I then decide to go after Zarith. He waited outside the door to my room.

    "You okay?" I simply ask.

"Your parents are gone again?" he suddenly questions.

"Um..." I blankly stare at him. "Yeah. Mom decided to help my dad at work."

"Hm.. I see," he says as a response.

I walk up to him and tap him on the shoulder. "Hey," I whisper. "Let's go outside. I have something to show you."

He looks confused at first, but soon decides to follow me. I run downstairs, and exit out of the back door.

"There's a secret garden," I yell out to him as I run all the way to the end of my backyard. I bend down, and point to one of the bushes. "I found it not too long ago." I slowly push one of the bushes, allowing a tunnel passage to show.

"You're making me go through tha-"

"Come on!" I interject as I begin to crawl through the tunnel.

Once we reach the end, I quickly get up, and look at the beautiful scenery. It was a large garden with flowers of all colors surrounding the perimeter.  The middle included a large fountain, though nothing else. "What do you think?" I ask Zarith. He didn't seem to impressed.

    "Think about what?" he responds.

"You don't like it? Isn't it beautiful?"

He simply shrugs his shoulders as I sigh.

Suddenly, he smirks as he sits on the floor. I sit as well, right in front of him. "What do you think your parents are doing?"
