Arc- Level C [Continued]
April 14- Day 14B
Stylus and I handed each other an earpiece so we could easily communicate once he was inside the room.
He quickly exits from this room, and slowly enters the room Kaiden was in.
Kaiden didn't bother to look up as he continued to look down and fidget with his fingers. Stylus slowly looks down in attempt to meet his eyes, and quickly makes his way to the chair placed across from the boy.
"Hello... Kaiden," he begins, though Kaiden doesn't move an inch. "You got yourself in quite some trouble, haven't you." He nervously laughs, though quickly stops as Kaiden remains silent. "Kaiden... in order for me to understand... you have to talk to me."
A word simply doesn't escape Kaiden's mouth. Perhaps he was scared... or ashamed. But either way, it was easy to tell that he was worried about what would happen next.
Stylus sighs as he looks up at me through the window. Even though he couldn't see me from his end, he looked directly towards me with a concerned expression on his face.
"I'll come back later," he whispers to Kaiden as he begins to stand up, though Kaiden quickly latches onto his arm.
"I-" he begins with his raspy voice. Intrigued, Stylus slowly positions himself back on the chair as he moves in closer to the boy. "Everything... everything is my fault."
There's a pause between his response. "Your fault?" Kaiden simply nods his head. "Fault as in... you didn't finish whatever you were supposed to do... here...?" He nods his head once again. "What were you supposed to do?" Kaiden doesn't give a response. "Were you... supposed to kill someone?"
Kaiden's breathing noticeably becomes heavier as he looks down. "I-"
"Did someone force you to do such a thing?"
He quickly looks up as he shakes his head. "No, no... of course not..."
"So you did this on your own free will?" He pauses, though eventually nods his head. "Ross and Noah... were they the two people you were supposed to kill?"
"Y-yes..."
"Why?"
From the cameras, it was easy to notice an answer beginning to escape from his mouth, though he quickly closes it as he looks back down.
"Was it because of your father?"
His eyes widen as he slowly begins shaking. He slowly looks up and makes eyes contact with Stylus, though a word barely manages to come out.
"Am I right? Your father... Richard Smith."
"How... how do you know him...?"
Stylus scoffs. "We used to work together... under the same unit. I... I didn't know you were his son... until recently." He lifts up a set of documents. "And besides, it's all on your file." Kaiden remains still before looking back down. "Why... why did you target those two? They were on your father's team... they worked together, so why-"
"They killed him," Kaiden sputters.
"Huh?" I whisper. My eyes slightly widen as I move closer to the window. Stylus gives a surprised expression as well as he quickly looks at the window.
"W-what? Ross? Noah?"
"I... I'm not sure which one... But certainly it's one of them... Possibly Noah..."
