Arc: Level C [Continued]
April 14- Day 14D
Ken's POV
I look at David, glancing upwards, then downwards at him as he grabs his drink to take a sip. Then I chuckle as I take a sip from my cup as well. "That's a nice way... to become friends with someone I suppose."
He smiles at me. "I have more stories, but I'll give it some time before I tell you."
"Why not tell me now? I'm intrigued."
"Oh?" He scoffs.
"My dad never told me about his childhood. So I get to hear about his through you. But I'm interested in learning more about you as well."
"And why's that?"
"Why's that? Is it so bad to know more about you?"
He remains silent for a couple of seconds before he lightly chuckles and nods his head. "Ok... I'll do that then." He pauses, then adds, "Tell me... What do you think about me?"
I swiftly look up at him as my eyes slightly widen and twitch. "Hm?"
"I'm curious," he mentions with a smirk. "Do you see me as family? As a friend? As your doctor?" he adds with a chuckle.
I lightly laugh as I think. Then I move closer to him. "Mhh..." I pause before answering. "Family," I answer as I lightly nod my head. "It's kinda weird to think that I spent more time with you compared to my actual parents... So that's why I see you more as my father... than my actual father."
There's a moment of silence before he lightly pats my head. "I felt as if I told you my story, you'd see how many similarities we possess. I'll tell you more about my past.... when it's time."
I nod my head. "I never knew you were hospitalized. It sucks to hear... how you never saw your father during your time there."
He chuckles. "It's okay. Things certainly changed after I left."
"I see..." I lightly scoff. "My father never told me that your father was the former leader... of FBHE. I thought the leadership of the company remained in our family. How... how did he end up becoming the leader rather than you?"
"I gave up my position to him," he bluntly answers with a smile.
"W-why?"
"Mhh...," he thinks to himself. "I didn't believe that I was capable in running the company. I'll tell you more about it someday, but I was more interested in learning more about Elites and medicine."
"A-ah," I slowly nod my head. "You're doing pretty good... leading FBHE now at least."
He smiles as he takes another sip from his drink. "It's been a while since I've been in the business industry. It would be a shame to still not be able to do it. I can teach you about what it means to run a company. I know your father avoided talking about that topic with you."
I smile. "T-thanks." I move back to my spot as I look at the wall behind me. "You think they're still here?" I whisper.
He swiftly gets up as he nods his head. "Most likely," he whispers. "You finished?"
