Arc: When People Fall, the Demon Rises [Continued]

April 6- Day 6B

Ken's POV

With a slight smirk, I chuckle. "Now, Zarith. Would you look at that."

The dark figure pulls out beside me once again. "You've finally stopped calling me an, 'it'," he says as he slowly transitions into seemingly a human body.

I sigh. "I told you. As long as you're in that form, I'll classify you as an 'it'."

    "Ha, that's offensive."

I look at the person that stands beside me. To finally see him in this state is refreshing. I was tired of seeing him in that entity form. Noticing his drastic change in expression, I snap out of my thoughts. "You're getting excited again," I tell him.

"Oh come on. We're the same, aren't we? I know you're just as excited as I am."

I roll my eyes, and look at him once again. His eyes and hair were glowing red, similar to mine. Except those are his permanent colors, unlike me, who switches between black and red. "Are you gonna join the battle?"

"Ah, you know how much I'd like to." He grins, then slightly looks over at me. "But you know I'd destroy them within a second." He turns around, leaning on one of the lasting walls in this ruin. "I need an opponent that can satisfy me. Level Ds.... Won't cut it." He chuckles. "But you on the other hand..." He slowly looks over at me, and lets out a smirk.

My hands rest in my pockets as I lean on the wall. I smirk as well. "The battle seems to be getting interesting."

Zarith's expression quickly falls, as he turns around to look where I'm looking. Then, his smirk reappears once again.

For this entire time, Zarith and I have been watching Stylus and Desirée against what seemed like a pool of level Ds...... And one level A.... Who is launching at Desirée. I assumed the majority here would be the level As, considering the fact that they planned this attack. Though, they may have already moved out.

"She's gonna get killed at this rate," Zarith comments as the smirk remains on his face.

I stop leaning on the wall and move up, extending my arm mounted sword. "So, Zarith. What should I do? Should I kill this level A? Or perhaps spare him?" I say while smirking.

He begins to chuckle. "You said it yourself, Ken." He looks up at me. "You said this was a game, didn't you? Do you kill your opponents in a game? Or do you spare them?"

I look back at him, allowing us to stare into each of our similar expressions. Suddenly, I begin to chuckle as I walk closer to the battle field. "Note this, Zarith. Surely you know this already, but-

"A game isn't nearly as fun when everyone is spared."

Using Frank's ability, which I held onto, knowing it would come into use, I teleport right behind the person placing an attack on Desirée. Within a blink of an eye, I copy the level A's ability, stopping his teammates from attacking me in the meantime. I lift up my arm mounted sword, and with a simple swing, the enemy in front of me fell, with blood splattering all over. Before hitting the floor, I manage to perform a jump spin hook kick, leading my enemy to crash, head first, into the wall to my right. I slowly touch my face, and notice the blood dripping on it, along with my sword.
