Arc: Level C [Continued]

Ken's POV

February 18- *14 years ago* Recovered Memory

I feel as if I am in an incinerator. Or perhaps I'm over exaggerating, just a little bit. I slowly open my eyes, and notice that I was in an empty building. Maybe it was abandoned, at least the scraped walls and musty flooring made it seem like it.

"We're in a garage," someone suddenly says, causing me to jolt as quickly sit up. Looking up, I notice Zarith as he was smoking, once again. It seemed like I was sitting on his lap. I then look around, and realize that we were, in fact, in a garage. "Perhaps I gave you too much of my blood," he suddenly comments as he chuckles.

"How long was I out for?" I ask as I begin to stretch.

"Do you remember everything that happened?" he suddenly asks. I quickly look over at him, slightly confused. "We're hiding from your parents, remember?" he whispers. My eyes slightly widen as I drop back down to the floor. "Don't worry. You weren't out for long. Perhaps about an hour or less. I actually expected you to be out for longer, considering the fact that you ingested my blood."

I sit down and stay quiet for a couple of seconds. "Zarith," I start as my head drops into my hands. "What am I gonna do?"

"Well, you said that you wouldn't run away. So we'll simply stay here. They're bound to find us, maybe within the next hour. You still need to learn how to mask that energy of yours after all. You're panicking a little." He takes another puff from his yarke.

Suddenly, I quickly grab him by the collar. "What am I gonna do? What will they do to me if I stay here?"

He simply begins to chuckle. "Are you suddenly thinking about leaving?" I slightly jolt as I loosen my grip. He finally grabs my hands, and pulls them off his collar. Suddenly, he harshly grabs my chin as he pulls me in closer to him. "Do you trust me that much, to leave with me? Are you sure you want to leave here?"

Tears slightly begin to form as I continue to look at him. "And what can I possibly do if I stay here?" I whisper.

"Are you no long curious?" he suddenly asks. My eyes widen. "How will you ever know what they would have done to you? And what will happen if your sister ends up in a similar situation?"

I slowly move back, hesitating to answer. He was right. How would I ever know what their true goal is? How will I figure out what it is they would have done to me? And mostly, how will I be able to leave my sister behind..? The only way to get answers is to face the problem.

So that's what I will do.

I take a couple of breaths, not only physically preparing myself, but preparing my mind as well. If they are going to take me away, I need to find out what retaliation they have for me. I slowly wipe the tears off my face, then face Zarith. "Alright," I finally say. "I'll be staying here." I sit on the dusty floor of the garage, then cross my legs as I close my eyes. I slowly breathe in, then out, allowing my energy to flow throughout my body.

Suddenly I hear Zarith chuckle. "Your hair seemed to have let go," he comments.

I quickly touch my hair, acting as if I could see it. "Is it red?" I ask, with a nod from Zarith following. I lightly chuckle. "It won't go back to black, will it?"
