Arc: Level C [Continued]

April 12- Day 12H

Zarith and I stay in place before he slowly disappears. "What will you do, Ken?" he whispers before he is completely gone.

I sigh as I exit out of the storage building. Just ahead was the building where the event was. The place was emptied out by now, with yellow tapes surrounding the building.

I swiftly turn right towards the parking lot, and look around. I was prepared to teleport, but I soon notice one single car on the opposite side. The black suv was familiar, so I walk up even closer. "Is that Stylus's car...?" I whisper to myself as I examine the car.

Suddenly the door swings open as Stylus walks out. "You're finally here."

"You were waiting for me? What about the rest-"

"Don't worry, Rosé dropped them off," he answers. "Get in."

He sits back in the car as I walk over to the passenger seat. Once I was in, he quickly looks at me. "Where did you go? Did you find anything?"

I remain silent for a couple of seconds before responding. "No. Not really." He slowly nods his head as he starts to drive away from the building. "Why did you wait for me?" I ask.

"I wanted to.... ask you something." He pauses as we reach a red light. "Oh, before that, what happened with Fox....?"

I quickly face him. "Hm? Was he not there?"

"Nope. We checked every room, and all we caught was his blood."

    "I see....," I whisper.

"So we just will do a blood analysis to figure out his identity." He pauses once again as we continue down the street. The traffic was a lot less than before, so there's a chance we might get home early. "You know, I was thinking....," he suddenly begins. "Do you remember.... how it was back in high school?"

I study him for a couple of seconds, then scoff. "And why would you ask a question like that?"

"I was just happening to think about it. You know, how different everything was back then. Would you say... you were any different...?"

"You mean since I now have my abilities? How it's different from now to then?"

"How was it different...?" I whisper as I sit back in the seat.

Though with the question in mind.... was I any different?

    It's hot.

No matter how hard I try to shake off the hot, pealing sensation on my body, it remains. What kind of hell am I trapped in now? What have I deserved to be haunted like this in my dreams?

    This was a dream.... right?

Even the ground seemed to be just as hot as the rest of my body. Once I feel ready to move, I slowly get up, with my feet piercing with pain. I jolt as I slowly look down, only to notice sharp rocks covering the ground. Not a single empty spot was visible.
