Arc: 7/42 [Continued]
February 18- *14 years ago* Recovered Memory
"Bye mom! Bye dad!" I yell out to them from upstairs as they both leave out the door. I then sit on the stairs and sigh. Ever since last year, they've both been leaving out to work more and more often. While they brought Echo over to day care, they trusted me enough to behave myself at home, so they never bothered to get a nanny either. And besides, I'm capable of taking care of myself.
But that's mostly because Zarith is with me.
He's been a big help ever since he first came here, helping me develop and control my powers. Ever since the beginning, we've been practicing, bit by bit, so I can strengthen and master by ability. Lately I've been kind of worried though. I'm trying my best to keep my abilities a secret from my parents, but the more I develop my abilities, more control I would need in order to maintain my hair. It's been so tiring, that sometimes I would wake up so late that my parents would already be gone.
But today's gonna be different. I actually have something I want to show Zarith, so all I have to do is wait for him to show up.
"What is it that you want to show me?" Zarith suddenly appears behind me, causing me to jolt a bit. I watch him as he sits next to me on the stairs.
"You have got to stop doing that," I pant as I place my hand on my chest. "Why do you keep on reading my mind, stop!"
He chuckles a bit, then gets up. "Then what is it?"
I frown, then lazily get up. I slowly walk down the stairs as I explain, "I want us to go to my dad's office."
Zarith chuckles. "And is that a good idea?"
"Who knows?" I answer. "All I know is that we're both looking for information. I don't know exactly what it is I'm looking for, and I have no idea what you're looking for, but I'm pretty sure we'll find it in his room." I walk up to my dad's office door, and attempt open it. Though, it's locked. "As expected," I whisper. I then turn around to face Zarith. "Alright, so I've been thinking about this. There are two options. Or maybe more, who knows. You could either teleport us inside, or you can use your fire shards to create a perfect key shape to unlock the door."
He chuckles once again as he moves closer to me. Then, he whispers, "You really are such a naughty boy." My eyes widen as he bends down and flicks my forehead. And after about a second, I feel a shock, causing me to jolt a bit. Suddenly, we're inside his large office, with bookshelves and desks covering the room. On those desks were tons documents, with 'classified' stamped on it, along with a laptop. At the very ends of the room were a couple of desktop computers.
"Alright, we have about 7 hours in this room before my parents come back," I mention as I continue to look around the room. I quickly walk over to one of the further bookshelves and look up. Suddenly, I notice see the title as it reads, 'Luxarians and Yamirens- True Origins of Elites'. I widen my eyes as it seems to be one of the books I'm looking for. I start to get excited, though there is one problem. I can't seem to reach the book. I quickly face Zarith, who was much taller than me, and notice that he was reading one of the classified documents on the desk. For some reason, his expression showed to be very dark and malicious. "Um," I nervously say. He was obviously upset as his energy was quickly radiating, even all the way over to me. I've never seen him this mad before. What is it that's getting him so worked up? "Zarith, what is that you're reading?"
