Arc: When People Fall, the Demon Rises [Continued]
April 5- Day 5A
"I guess it's time to wake up," I say as I get up from my couch and begin to stretch. I look around the room, and look to see the sun attempting to seep through the curtain. I walk over, and open it up. I squint my eyes as the sun shines through. I turn around, and head up stairs as I yawn. As soon as I reach my door, I slowly open the door, only to see Desirée fast asleep as she uses her covers to hide her face. "You're different again today, aren't you?" I quietly whisper to myself. Suddenly, I hear my phone ringing from downstairs. I quickly but quietly close the door, and head down the quick steps of the stairs.
On the remote stand, my phone was vibrating and ringing. I look on the screen to see it was Stylus, and I quickly pick up the phone.
"What?" I answer as I gather my covers from the couch.
"Are you always this grouchy in the morning?" Stylus says as he chuckles. I roll my eyes. "Anyways, I'm coming over later today. In about 10-20 minutes."
"Ha, really? You must have something good for me then?"
There's a long pause after I say that. It seemed as if he was thinking, or maybe he was hesitant to say more.
"Uh, yeah. Oh, and you mentioned yesterday about something involving Desirée, yeah?"
"Yeah." I quickly answer. I suddenly feel a wave of energy behind me, most likely being Desirée. "Ok, well I'll see you." I hang up, then turn around to face Desirée. "What do you want?"
"Mhh....," she says as she rubs her eyes. "Who....was that?" she slowly asks.
Ever since the first day I met her, she seems to have some sort of pattern according to the way she acts. It's like....it's every other day, when she has a switch in personalities. One day, she's quiet, and the others, she's noisy as hell. I slowly walk up to her. "Let me ask you something." As I say that, her eyes slowly widens, as her facial expressions prove that she is surprised. This was honestly the first sense of emotion I've seen from her in this form. Yet, she suddenly reverts back to her old, expressionless face. "Are you Desirée?" She quickly backs aways as I ask her, with her being noticeably surprised.
"W-why?" she asks while flustered.
I slowly walk up to her, and luckily, she doesn't move back. I gently hold her chin, and slowly bring her face up in order to face me. I even had to bend down a bit in order to do this, since she was so short. She looks at me, with her flustered face remaining visible. As she does this, I deeply look into her eyes. After all, the eyes can tell anything. Without them, it would be hard to see the story......or for them to tell. "Are you Desirée?" I suddenly say while looking into her eyes.
She begins to shake her head, starting off slowly, and getting faster by the second. Suddenly, she slaps my hand way from her chin. "No! Ken!" she yells. I squint my eyes, and continue to examine her actions. She begins to quickly move back. "Your eyes, Ken." she says in a firm voice. This whole time I've seen her in this form, I haven't once seen her talk this much. In fact, this is the most she's talked since she came to me like this. "Your eyes were red just now." she continues to say. "You were analyzing me, weren't you?"
"I don't know what you mean." I say as I lightly smirk. I slowly begin to walk up to her as she continues talking.
"Those eyes....... Ken! You liar! Don-"
