Arc: Past Blues & Whites [Continued]

September 9- *5 years ago*

I wake up to the noise of my alarm. I groan as I turn the screeching noise off, and sit up in my bed. I scratch my eyes, and yawn. I look around the room, confused. "Why am I up....." Sometimes in the morning, I'm not so....attentive. Suddenly, my mind is put back in its place. I spring up out of bed and talk to myself. "It's the first day of school!" I never thought I would be so excited for such a day. In fact, the only reason is because I'm finally entering the 9th grade......I quickly run to Echo's room to see if she's awake. After all, she always slept in.

As soon as I enter the room, I notice that she's fast asleep as always. I slowly walk up closer to her, and quickly begin tickling her. She laughs and laughs until she is left on the floor. "Ken!" she yells. She begins to fake cry. "I was having the perfect dream."

I chuckle. "And what is that?"

She slowly grabs a pillow. "Me being asleep and not being waken by you!" As soon as she says 'you', she throws the pillow at me and runs to the shower.

"Hey! Get back here!" I yell while coughing out the cotton remains from the pillow in my mouth. "You know I have to take a shower first! It's my big day!" I yell to her.

She jokingly yells back while laughing. "I DON'T CARE." she yells as she shuts the door. I walk up closer to the door and hear her laughing, probably at me and at the fact that she got the bathroom first.

Aw man. She's gonna take all the hot water.....

Once we say good bye to our parents, Echo and I are headed out the door, with Stylus waiting. "Hey Stylus!" I say as I wave to him. He simply chuckles and lightly smiles. Then, he begins to walk off. With Echo behind me, I run up to him. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"Uhh, nothing," he blandly responds.

"Wait, you're not excited about today? When I finally get to find out who you are?"

"Ehhh, yeah. Not too excited about that."

"What?? Come on."

"Ughhhh." He groans. "You're gonna hate me."

"You always say that, and I always say no."

He simply rolls his eyes. I could tell by the conversations we have as we walk to school that he's concerned. Maybe it's because we're finally going to learn what an elite is, but I honestly don't know why he's worrying so much. Once we reach the turn towards school, we see Ivy and Ace heading towards us from the opposite direction. Ivy seems pretty excited, running up to us, but Ace on the other hand. He seems exhausted.....again.

As Ivy runs up to us, she hugs Stylus and I, and goes down to Echo's height to hug her. "I miss y'all so much," she says. "And you're still short, Echo." She says while laughing. Echo simply frowns her face and turns the other way. She stands back up and yells at Ace. "Hurry up! School's gonna start soon!"

All you can hear is Ace groaning as he's walking towards us. "Ughhh, remind me why I have to be here again." Once Ace is close enough to us, we begin walking down the street towards the school. "Tell me why I had to wake up early."
