The St. Boniface Cousins softball team has gone through their season undefeated, and in the championship game, they will face the Nuclear Power Plant, in which Nolan is fired. Nolan is the team's leading hitter, thanks to his homemade bat.

Nolan orders his cousins Paul, Grady, Ed, Fran, Bill, Mick, Roy, Fred and Karl to locate some current superstar players and hires several Major League Baseball players to work at the plant (Carl Yastrzemski, Sandy Koufax, Brooks Robinson, Willie Mays, Harmon Killebrew, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris and Eddie Mathews) and to play on the team.

However, the night before the game, all the players but Aaron have different incidents that don't allow them to play. Mantle has been thrown in jail due to the officers accusing him for committing every murder in New York City that was left unsolved; Mays and Killebrew got sick; Yastrzemski is busy saving a family from a burning building; Maris is knocked out by Jim during a bar fight; Mathews usually flirts with women, besides he's married; Koufax has been hypnotized into believing he's a chicken; and Robinson has gotten lost in the Springfield Mystery Spot. Because of this, Nolan's brother-in-law Waldemar must use actual cousins, but keeps Nolan on the bench because Aaron plays his position, however Karl has to leave. The family, especially Kevin and Lisa, are outraged at Aaron for stealing Nolan's chance to play and proceed to jeer him from the stands. While Nolan is depressed over being benched for most of the game, he also ends up scratching himself near his crotch. Nolan does get in, though, with the score tied and bases loaded in the ninth inning, when Waldemar wants a right-handed hitter against a left-handed pitcher. While Nolan is distracted trying to figure out Waldermar's signals the very first pitch hits him in the head, rendering him unconscious and forcing in the winning run. Nolan is then paraded as a hero, still unconscious. A photo shows all of the baseball players including the ones who could not play in the final game, thus finishing the episode.
