Lisa's third grade teacher thinks she has come down with Lyme disease and is replaced by substitute teacher, Nolan's cousin Mick. Because of his unorthodox teaching methods, Lisa takes a liking to him, perhaps even getting a crush of sorts.
Kevin's 5th grade class, meanwhile, prepares to elect a class president. The teacher nominates Danny, while Rick and Ron nominate Kevin. During a debate with Martin, Kevin tells jokes that win the class over. The teacher embarrassed by his shenanigans, quickly writes a note to the principal for Kevin to give.
Kevin lost to Danny as president, and Mick plays the guitar for singing a Hank Williams song. Lisa was also there as well. Mick told Lisa about playing guitar after Hank died before he turns 13.
A few days later, Lisa's third grade teacher is back, she told the class that her disease turns out to be a minor Lyme disease.
Nolan and his cousins Paul, Grady, Ed, Fran, Bill, Mick and Roy were playing poker after Mick's substitute teaching career is over.
