Marva Lynn believes she's going to have a baby, but Nolan and his cousins, Paul, Grady, Ed, Fran, Bill, Mick, Roy, Fred and Karl were coming over to chat with her.

Nolan begins his story in 1951, and still dating Marva Lynn. One night on a romantic date, after seeing Hank Williams in concert, Nolan and Marva Lynn make love at his house. Homer decides to propose to Marva Lynn, and she eagerly accepts. The two marry in a small wedding chapel across state lines. The two spend their "wedding night" at Marva Lynn's sisters' house, sleeping on a couch in the living room. Needless to say, this aggravates Marva Lynn's sisters and brother Waldemar extremely, who all despise Nolan.

Back to present, on Christmas day, Nolan was very drunk through a Christmas party a day before. Nolan and Marva Lynn were headed to the hospital to deliver the baby. After the baby is born, Nolan and Marva Lynn choose to name him Kyle Michael. Nolan told his cousins that Nolan's friend's favorite racecar driver Richard Petty, who has a son named Kyle. The other children's real names were Kevin Nolan, Lisa Marie and Marla Lynn.

The next day, Ed told Nolan that his second son Kevin Charles was born nine days before Kyle's birth.
