The Smith family prepare to go to church, Nolan is preoccupied with a football game. On the way into church, Marva Lynn confiscates Kevin's portable radio with earphones and gives them to Nolan, although she gave the car keys away, pull's Nolan's ear, and head to church.
On the way home from church Marva Lynn expresses her disapproval of Nolan's headphones. At home, Nolan gives Kevin $5 and he heads to the theater on his skateboard. Upon arrival, he encounters Freddy Schuldt, Larry Steffenhagen and J.B. Torstenson. When Kevin makes a good impression on Larry, the trio invite him to sneak into a movie with them.
Meanwhile at night, Nolan was watching the quadruplet boys named Jebediah, Obadiah, Zachariah and Jedediah Oglethorpe, they were all stillborn at the time of their death. Nolan told Paul, Grady, Ed and Fran about losing quadruplets, but they asked Nolan to play the game, but Nolan is not. Nolan told Kevin not to meet strangers, but Kevin was headed to his room.
Nolan is still coaching with his cousins and told the high school football players about the quadruplet boys named Oglethorpe.
