While watching TV with the family, Nolan found two dogs in addition to Santa's Little Helper, Sampson and Delilah. Sampson is a boy dog, and Delilah is a girl dog.
Paul and Jane finally had Randy, and Ed and Marcia had Don, they all visit at the time when Nolan brings Sampson and Delilah, and the dogs licked Don and Randy.
Meanwhile, Nolan told the high school football players from St. Boniface about facing off with Grand Rapids football team, but lost the game. Before that Nolan said about Judy Garland. After that, Paul, Grady, Ed, Fran, Bill, Mick and Roy were having a horrible time.
Nolan presents his speech about economizing the power plant in which he was fired. Despite the fact that Nolan gives a brilliant speech about the Japanese art of self-management that could save the plant a lot of money, it flops because none of the other executives are willing to take Nolan seriously. By the end of the speech, the entire audience has walked out, and Mick slaps Nolan and tells him to get out after saying about the savings. But Marva Lynn tells Nolan that his job has always provided their needs and that the kids will get over not being spoiled. The episode finishes with Mick singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to Kay while dancing.
