The episode begins inside the Smith's kitchen, where Lisa is baking cupcakes to bring to her second grade teacher for her birthday at school. Once at the schoolyard, Lisa shows off her cupcakes to her friends and one of Nelson's minions steals the cupcakes and begins to eat them. Kevin comes over to Lisa's rescue and attacks the bully. Nelson then comes over to break up the fight; he picks up Kevin by the shirt collar with Kevin blindly swinging. One of Kevin's punches lands and gives Nelson a bloody nose. Everyone gasps at seeing this. Nelson tells Kevin he will get him after school.
In the lunchroom, everyone hails Kevin as a hero. A modest and nervous Kevin downplays the situation. Nelson walks up to a trembling Kevin to remind him about the fight after school. Lisa places a cupcake on Kevin, reflecting on how the fight was her responsibility. Nelson notices this and pounds him one last time. Back in reality, after school, a nervous Kevin darts around the playground hoping to avoid Nelson. Kevin turns a corner only to see Nelson standing right in front of him. Nelson promptly pummels Kevin, throws him in a trash can, and informs Kevin to meet again tomorrow after school for another beating.
The garbage can with Kevin inside rolls to a stop in front of the Smith house, and a weary Kevin stumbles out and goes inside the house. Once inside, Kevin walks past his parents in the living room and heads to the bathroom to cry. Marva Lynn sends Nolan in to console Kevin. Marva Lynn eavesdrops on the conversation and when it is revealed that Nelson is picking on Kevin, she bursts in and gives Kevin advice. She advises him to talk nicely to Nelson and try to settle things like gentlemen. Nolan disagrees and takes Kevin into another room and shows him how to fight Smith's style.
The next day, after school, once again in front of the Smith house, the trash can rolls to a stop. Lisa is sitting out on the sidewalk and suggests Kevin seek Nolan's coaches' advice.
Kevin goes to the football stadium and visit Paul, Grady, Ed and Fran. They got the water balloon to catch the three bullies at the same time. The assistant principal from the elementary school expelled the three bullies.
