Lately I've been thinking about who I want to love, how I want to love, why I want to love the way I want to love, what I need to learn to love that way, and who I need to become to love the way I want to be.... and when I break it all down, when I whittle it into a single breath it essentially comes out like this;
"Good morning doctor Grey!" Said a very thick Irish accent. Meredith smiles as she looked to her right "Good morning doctor Hayes." Meredith exclaimed as they wait in line at the coffee cart. It becomes Meredith's turn to order she get's her usual black coffee 2 sugar. "I'll have that right out!" Eli the barista responded. Before Meredith could say anything Hayes cut in and said "We'll actually take two of those" Meredith raised and eyebrow at Hayes making an "umm okay" kind of face. Eli grinned and said "coming right up" Eli called out Meredith's name so she could come get her coffee's before she even could get to her purse Hayes said "I'll get these" Meredith didn't want him to spend money on her especially because they had just met 3 week prior. "No it's fine, really let me" Meredith insisted. "Too late" Hayes smiled. They grab their coffee's and start to walk to the entrance of Grey Sloan.
Meredith had a consult on a peds patient at 12:30. The patient need's a kidney transplant and she will be working with doctor Hayes. It's was 10:30 so she got changed into some scrubs and did some charts in the attendings lounge. Meredith didn't get much charting done, all she could think about was Hayes and why he bought her coffee this morning. Was he just being friendly or was he trying to flirt? She and Andrew had broken up 1 week after Hayes arrived at Grey Sloan she wasn't quite ready for another relationship yet.
Meredith got paged 911 by doctor Hayes to the peds ward. When Meredith got there Hayes was yelling "charge to 250. CLEAR. We have a stead rhythm." Meredith wasn't sure what had just happened but she knew that Hayes was working on Maddie their kidney transplant patient. Maddie was 10 and had kidney failure. "Book OR 2, let's prep her and get her to the OR now !" Insisted Meredith.
