Sometime's Things Just Dont Work Out

I back up and stand in the doorway of the boys room. "What is wrong?" I ask Austin as he frantically searches his room and suitcase. "Nothing, nothing I'm fine." He replies. I walk in. "Okay well dad doesn't like that word, you're swearing and searching for something so obviously you are not fine." I respond. "Stop saying fine that's a sad word and today is a happy day." Cormac yells. "See what did I tell you?" I say. "Dad..." there was a long pause. "Dad!" Austin yells. "Huh what?" Cormac says at the bottom of the stairs. "Come here." Austin replies I'm still in his room. I'm standing by the t.v with my arms crossed. Cormac walks in "what's up?" He asks. "Uhh mom can you let me and dad talk for a minute?" Austin asks. I nod "sure." Then leave to check on Zola.

"What is going on Austin?" I say worried now. "I lost it. I had it under my pillow and it's gone. Ever since I got Ellis in the middle of the night I can't find it." Austin says frantic. "Lost what? What did you loose? Slow down." I say trying to calm him but also get details. "The ring dad. I lost it. I don't know where it is. I got Ellis last night she was crying but I didn't want to wake you up so I went in her room picked her up and brought her to my bed. It was under my pillow and when I took her back to her bed it was gone. I don't know where it is." Austin says. I freeze this ring was very expensive and very, very important. "Okay take a breath. Make your bed, look all around, pick up a little... I don't know but I need it." I say. He nods "I know that's why I'm panicking." He replies. "Uh Cormac? Can you come down here please?" Maggie yells form the kitchen. "Yeah hold on." I say then I leave the boys room and run downstairs. "What's up?" I ask Maggie. "What is in Ellis's elephant?" Maggie says motioning her head towards Ellis. "Oh my fucking god." I say. Ellis has this elephant she sleeps with every night. It has really big ears and a trunk but the mouth and back open so you can put stuff in. The mouth was open a little. "Yeah." Maggie says Amelia is laughing. "And you say you don't trust me." Richard says sipping his coffee. I look at him, then hear footsteps. Shit. I walk over to the elephant and quickly grab the box out sliding it into my sweatpants. Meredith walk's into the kitchen. I look at Maggie because I know exactly what Meredith is about to do. I give Maggie a face that's like help. "I have to pee." I say and quickly dip out of the kitchen. I walk into the bathroom and put the ring in the cabinet under the sink.

I texted Maggie to tell her where I put the ring so she could go pick it up. She was in leggings and a baggie hoodie so I knew she would be able to hide it good. I walk back into the kitchen and start making more pancakes. Meredith walk's up behind me hugging me and slips her hands into my sweatpants pockets. I smile because I knew that's what she was going to do.  My phone is on the counter next to me. *ding ding*

Mags:
Got it.

Austin:
Got what?

Got the thing we were all looking for the ticket to the restaurant. 👀

Austin:
What do you mean? We don't need tickets for that...

My phone keeps buzzing so I flip it over. Meredith pulls her hands out of my pockets and takes a step back. "Who is that?" She asks. Shit if they don't shut up this is all going to be ruined. "I'm sure it was just the hospital." I reply. I didn't know what else to say. "Want me to see if it's urgent?" Meredith asks. "No I'm on vacation they should stop texting me." I say a little louder so Maggie and Richard can hear me. Maggie gasps. "Okay." Meredith says. Meredith turns around to Maggie. "What?" She says. "Huh?" Maggie questions. "You gasped what is wrong?" Meredith elaborates. "Oh yeah I was reading an article about the bachelorette." Maggie says "oh." Meredith replies.  It goes silent for a moment. "Who else wants pancakes?" I ask. Everyone in the room says they will have some. "So you're eleven weeks?" Maggie asks. "Yeah but don't say to much with the older kids around, we haven't told them." Meredith responds. "Do you have morning sickness?" Maggie asks. Meredith sighs and smiles. "Every. Single. Day." She says. "That sucks." Maggie replies. Meredith nods her head as she sits down. "Yeah. I haven't had morning sickness today though. It usually hits around 8:30 and it's only like 7:00 so we'll see."  Meredith says. I put a plate of pancakes in the middle of the table. "Ellis do you want a plain one or chocolate chip?" I ask "chocolate chip please." Ellis replies. I grab a chocolate chip pancake put it on a plate and cut it for her. "Here baby." I say handing her the plate. "Thank you." She replies. "Do you want syrup or do you want it plain?" I ask "yes please." Ellis says. Everyone else was getting pancakes when Meredith stands up.

I walk upstairs, "boy breakfast, Zola pancakes downstairs." I say and then run into the bathroom. I puke three times then brush my teeth and go back downstairs. "You okay?" Cormac asks. "No" I say back and grab a water out of the fridge. He walks over and hugs me. "I'm going to shower and get dressed." I say. "Okay, I love you." Cormac says. "I love you more." I say. "Not possible." He replies and kisses my forehead. I walk away to get in the shower I walk upstairs, I get out my blue dress and make up. After I take a shower I throw on shorts and a baggie shirt to do my hair and make up. Zola walks in as I start my make up. "Mom do you want to get married again?" She asks. "I don't know Zola, I love cormac a lot but I don't know how much he loves me. I already had one grate love in my life, I don't want to be greedy." I respond I have told her the same exact thing before. "Mom your answer never changes." Zola says I laugh. "You're right." I respond. I finish my make up, I didn't put much on because it was hot and I didn't feel good. I blow dry my hair and then straighten it. I put my dress on and walk downstairs Zola was back in her room on her phone. "Damn" cormac says as I walk down the stairs. I smile "what?" I ask. "You, you look beautiful." He answers. "Thank you." I answer. "Mhm, Maggie, Amelia, and Richard left to get ready." He says. "Okay. What are the kids doing?" I ask. "Zola is upstairs, Ellis and all three of the boys are outside." He answers. "Okay, thank you." I reply. He pulls me closer to him, pushes my hair off my shoulder and kisses my neck. I move my head so he has more room. I'm Standing on the bottom step so I'm exactly his height. "cormac hayes questo è un gioco molto pericoloso da giocare." I say and softly moan. Cormac chuckles a little, he pulls the sleeve of my dress to the side a little and proceeds to give me a hickey. "Cormac anyone could walk over and see us." I say. He keeps giving me a hickey, I softly moan. After a minute he stops and starts kissing my neck again. "Babe." I say. He stops and looks at me. "Hm?" He hum. "The kids are going to see us." I say. He picks me up I wrap my legs around his hips he starts kiss my chest. He walks up the stairs and into our room. He kicks the door closed and then lays me on the bed. He starts kissing me everywhere. "Babe?" I say he stops because he knows what I'm going to say. "Yeah I know no sex." He says. "Yeah.." I respond. "Meredith I'm fine with this but I just want to remind you that you can have sex when you're pregnant. It doesn't hurt the baby." He says. I smile. "I know I just don't want to chance it." I reply. "Okay but kissing isn't sex" he protests. "True." I say. He starts kissing me again and I moan. "If we don't s-stop we will end u-up naked." I say. He moves his head away from my leg. "Okay, but I know you want me." He replies. "I do. I really really do." I reply. He looks at me with a 'really?' Face. "Fuck it. But not right now, later when everyone is sleeping." I suggest. "Deal." He replies. He walks into the bathroom to shower. I throw my head onto the pillows. I did want him, really really bad. What if I miscarry?

I walk into the bathroom turn on the shower and then stand in front of the mirror looking at myself. I was nervous, I was about to propose to the woman I love after the love of my life died. That's a lot to think about. I take a shower get out and put on new dark jeans with a white button down shirt and white shoes. I tuck my shirt into my jeans. My shirt was tight so you could be the outline of my abs and muscles which I hate but Meredith loves. I grab my sunglasses and walk downstairs. No one is inside so I go out the back door. I see Austin sitting in the sand. "Go get ready bud." I say. "Okay." He responds and then I walk away. I walk over toward Maggie's house. "Holy fucking shit." I hear Meredith say. I turn around "what?" I ask fixing my glasses. "Get back in the bedroom, I can't take this." She says I laugh. "I love you." I say shaking my head. "I love you too." She says. "But seriously you're hot." She states. "So are you" I respond. "Daddy!" Ellis yells as she runs over to me. I pull my jeans so I could bend down. "Hey baby." I say. "Can we go swimming?" Ellis asks. "We can but not right now. We are going to go somewhere." I say. Ellis says "okay."
"Can we go get dressed?" I ask her. "Yeah." She says exactly. "Okay let's go." Ellis runs away but I stay on the ground. Meredith is standing next to me with her hand on her stomach, I put my hand over hers. She smiles. I kiss her belly and then stand up kiss her and walk inside. I go upstairs to the girls room. I packed Ellis a white flowy dress that had a flower pattern on it. I help her get it on and then I give her two French braids stoping in the middle where I put each into a pony. I wipe her hands and face then get her shoes. "Okay all done." I say she runs back downstairs. "Ellis don't get you're dress dirty." I yell getting the brush and other hair stuff to put away. Meredith walk's in "I hope it a girl because you are an amazing girl dad." She says. I smile "I hope it's healthy." I say. She smiles "me too but I want another girl I'll be happy with both." I walk over to her and hug her. "Me too." I whisper. I back up, Meredith grabs her stomach and bends forward. "Ow shit-"
