What's Love?

My heart skips a beat as I hear what Cormac starts to say. I look up at his eyes and he stops talking. I know what he's trying to say and what he feels but I think it's hard for him to say to someone who isn't Abigail so I don't push. "I- I- I lo-" he hesitates. I smile and put my head back on his chest. "Cormac you don't have to say it." I say. "But I want to. I do Meredith I just.." he says. "I know, I get it. It's hard." I reply. I know how he feels. I know he loves me. I love him too. "But Meredith I do feel it." He replies. "I know you do Cory. It's okay. I'm not going anywhere." I say to calm him down a little. He sighs. "Hey what's today?" I ask him. "Um I think it's the 5th why?" He questions. "Just wondering." I was asking because I was late. Only by like two days so I wasn't saying anything yet because I very well could just be late. "It's getting late." I say. "Yeah." Cormac responds. I smile. I want to say it. I want to say I love you Cormac Oliver Hayes but I don't. "Good night." I say instead. "Good night." Cormac says but then I hear a knock on the door. "Come in." We say. It was Austin. "Hi." He says simply "hey bud." I say. He sits down next to me on the bed. I sit up. "What's up?" I ask concerned. "I-I I miss my mom." He says. I can tell that he's crying. I sit up all the way but Cormac stays laying down. "Tell me about your mom I don't know much about her. What was something she did that made you laugh?" I ask. Austin starts laughing "she used to do this thing, I loved it I remember when I was really little. If I was crying or upset she would grab me pick me up and spin me around until we both fell to the ground." Cormac was smiling now too. "And when we did fall she would tickle me until neither of us could breath. And she would make funny faces when I got scared. Like this." Austin made a face that made me laugh. Now Austin was laughing. "She sounds amazing." I say still laughing a little. "She was." Austin responds. "There was this one time we were all on vacation it was me, Liam, dad, and mom and we were driving in some town we had never been. We didn't really know where we were going and we were going fast and then dad slammed on the breaks and it scared the crap out of me and Liam so she turned around and started to tell us a funny story from when she was a kid. It made us laugh. She made everything better." Austin exclaims then Cormac goes "yeah she only did that to distract you guys because I was flipping someone off." All 3 of us started laughing. "I believe it." Austin replies. "Can I have a hug?" Austin asks me. "Austin anytime you want a hug you get one." I then hug him and he just sits there for a minute. "Alright listen it's late and you have school tomorrow, I hate to ruin the party but it's bedtime. Come on I'll walk you back to your room." I say still hugging him. "Good night dad, love you." Austin stands up. "Good night buddy, I love you too. Get some rest." Cormac answers. I get up and walk Austin to his room. I hug him and kiss his forehead before I leave starting to close the door. "Good night bud." I say. "Good night mom, thank you for making me laugh. I love you." He replies. "I love you too." I close the door all the way and walk back to my room.

CORMAC'S POV/:/:/:

"Hey." I say as Meredith walk's back in. "Hi?" She questions "you're so cute with the kids. Thank you for helping him." I tell her. "You're welcome, I mean it's kind of my job." She replies. I'm just looking at her. She's still has my hoodie on. "You're beautiful." I say. She's just kind of standing in the room. "Thank you." She responds I walk over, grab her waist and pull her in for kiss. I kiss her and she kisses me back. My hands roam her body. She pulls away. "Austin is still up." She says. "I know." I kiss her neck for a minute and then I move back to her lips. Then I pull away. "Meredith?" I call. "Cormac." She answers "I-" I stutter. She looks at me as we stand in her room bye her bed. "I love you." I say and smile. She smiles big "I love you too Cormac." I smile pick her up and spin her around. She squealed a little bit. "Okay, okay." She says so I put her down and kiss her. "Okay I'm tired. Can we go to bed now?" She asks. "Yes we can go to bed." I reply. We lay down and I turn off the light. "Mer?" I call. "Mmhmm?" She says I can tell she's tired. "Good night I love you." I say. She chuckles "I love you too babe, go to sleep." She replies and then turns and puts her head on my chest again. I smile. "Mom!" Ellis yells. Meredith sighs and doesn't move for a minute. The she goes to get up, "stay. Go to sleep I'll go lay with her." I say. She lays back down "thank you. I really do love you." She says and she rolls back over.

I walk into Ellis and Zola's room. "Hey, what's up?" I say "daddy there's something in my closet." Ellis says. "No there's not see?" I reply and open the closet. Then I close it and walk back over to her bed. "Here lay down I'll lay with you." I say. I end up falling asleep and stay there all night.
