Three Years Later
Kolivan called every Blade agent to a new base. We were being hunted by the Galra, and Kolivan wanted to make a stand against the druids that were after us.
"This will be the only way we can survive," he had said.
We landed on the new planet, partnering with the locals to fortify a base and stand against the druids, but they arrived sooner than we expected.
The Druids formed a line in the sky, and every member of the Blade of Marmora formed a strategic pattern throughout the city by unit.
Delta Unit was stationed at the heart of the city, tasked with protecting Kolivan and the Blade Second, which happened to be me. We watched and waited as the Druids slowly grew closer, more and more Blades losing their lives as we struggled to neutralise the threats.
Kiana flinched beside me as we continued to wait, getting more and more prepared to give our lives in the fight.
"What?" I asked, briefly turning my attention to my lieutenant.
"Drew," she said through gritted teeth. "He's here."
I tensed.
Drew. The evil brother.
"He's not going to make it out of here alive," I growled.
Kiana turned to me, anger in her eyes. "Don't you dare, Lily. Not unless I'm dead because he killed me."
I grumbled a few swear words. "Fine."
We went back to waiting. Josh was in a completely different part of the city with his unit. Ella, Ava, and Adrien were ahead of us behind a different building, and Kiana and I were in front of Kolivan. In terms of rank, it seemed like we were the most important people to protect. I hated it, that we had to hide, but it was part of our protocol. We protected our superiors.
About an hour later, something moved in, producing an orb of electricity around us. Kiana and I closed in around Kolivan.
We became locked in a game of chase, trying to evade the druid, but also trying to defeat it.
I willed my blade into a sword and moved to strike, but Kiana yelled.
"No, stop!"
"Sister," he said evilly.
Kiana's brother was powerful, and the fight was hard. But it was also confusing. The lightning the druids produced gave us cuts, depending on the amount of lightning used, and also caused disorientation. After trying hard to stop him without hurting him, I called in the rest of Delta. We fought alongside Kolivan, but it wasn't going anywhere.
"He needs to die," I said.
There was silence as we faced a standoff.
"Fine," Kiana bit out a few moments later.
We fought harder than we ever had before, but before I knew it, Ava, Ella, and Adrien dropped dead.
I didn't feel anything.
Kolivan, Kiana, and I were the only ones left fighting her brother, and we were losing badly. In fact, every other unit was having trouble eliminating the druids.
Drew is not going to live. Not when he just murdered half of my unit.
But instead of killing me, he was more focused on killing his sister.
And before I could do anything about his next shot, it went right through Kiana's chest.
"No," I said.
