Even though I was upset about not being on the mission, I realised that taking a break was exactly what my body needed. Not to mention it also felt really good to talk to Josh. I felt very calm. Josh was basically my brother, so I could talk to him about everything, even my feelings. He didn't judge me; he just listened. And that was often the only thing I needed.

I wanted to see Keith badly, and as I sat on my bed wrapped in cozy blankets, still in the Hospital Wing, I wanted to sleep too.

When Kiana ran in, I got excited, thinking Keith would follow close behind, but when my face fell ever so slightly, Kiana noticed.

"He needed a moment," she said. "Like you do after missions. Don't worry, though. He'll be in here soon."

I nodded, trying not to feel betrayed. "How was it?"

She shrugged. "Actually getting a hold of the cannon was easy, but watching Voltron and the Rebels struggling to fight the Galra cruisers was difficult. Naxzela was a bomb that almost went off. It would have wiped out everything in almost the whole universe. Being that close to death was a little bit scary, but I know you already know how that feels."

I nodded, solemn.

"I'm glad you're okay," I said.

Kiana left a few moments later, and I was eager to sleep. I put my blade in a drawer next to my bed before I curled up in my fuzzy blankets and was out a minute later.

When I woke up a while later, the only person in the Hospital Wing was Keith. He was seated in a chair next to me, his left hand on mine. His face rested on his right arm, and as he breathed in, he smiled softly. The gentle snores that escaped him, paired with his small, unconscious smiles, made Keith Kogane the most adorable human in the universe.

I smiled at him, even though he couldn't see it, and ran my thumb across his hand. He didn't look too comfortable, but I really didn't want to wake him. Instead, I pulled one of my blankets off and put it around him. The movement woke him just a little bit. Keith shifted his left arm around my shoulders, kissed me, and rested his head on my pillow. I grinned, turned towards him, and fell asleep with my hand holding his.

Finally, it was morning. I opened my eyes to find Keith, still in his position around me, staring softly at my face. I smiled, and he grinned just a little bit. Then he gave me a small kiss and pulled away to sit up straight. I imagined his back was killing him.

I took a deep breath, happy the pain wasn't too bad anymore. Bruises normally healed fast for me.

I looked at both my hands, and I was happy to find that my blade wasn't in either of them.

"That's good," I muttered.

"What's good?" He asked.

"I put my blade in the drawer," I said, motioning to the bedside table. "And it hasn't come out. That's good. It was getting awfully annoying."

He chuckled.

I smiled. Then I noticed something on his Blade uniform that made my smile die. A new pin. A pin that symbolized willing sacrifice. I didn't want to know, but I asked anyway.

"When did you get that?" I whispered.

He covered it with his finger and didn't speak for a moment.

"Yesterday."

"How?"

"Willing sacrifice," he said, and I knew he wouldn't say anything more.
