Keith
With Voltron formed and everyone's actual bodies back in their Lions, there was so much more damage we could do.
"Welcome back to the fight, Paladins," Shiro said as we somewhat revived.
"It's good to be back!" Hunk exclaimed. "You know, in our bodies."
I laughed a little.
"MFE pilots, what's your status?" Shiro asked.
"Power is dropping," Lillian said, and my heart skipped a beat.
Her voice...
You know I can hear that, right?
I blushed.
Whoops.
"Return to the Atlas and recharge," Shiro said.
"Copy that. We're on our way," Griffin said.
It wasn't long before fire from Sendak's fleet began to pin us against the Atlas. Fighters appeares, and we were caught in a battle on two fronts with nowhere to turn and little backup to call on.
We took out the fleet and the fighters with ease, keeping in mind that the real threat lay in the Zaiforge cannons Sendak had access to.
Over communications, Commander Holt began to explain what Sendak was about to do with the cannons, and since they were being controlled by him, I knew that we needed to take him out directly.
We moved to make an attack, but were struck with a ray of something so powerful that it drained the power from Voltron and caused pain to course through my body, feeling the damage that Voltron was feeling.
"What the heck was that?" Lance shouted.
We just barely missed the next beam, but another one reflected off of one of the Galra shields and hit us anyway.
"We're under attack from one of those bases that launched a Zaiforge cannon!" Allura reported.
"They must have been designed to defend the cannons after they launched," Pidge said with mounting realisation.
"Shield!" I shouted, noting another beam headed our way.
It formed just in time to cover us from the blast.
"We're being attacked from all angles!" Pidge exclaimed as the Galra began to fire at us again.
"Should we fall back?" Hunk asked.
I could sense the anxiety and fear of my team, but I didn't know what to say to them.
"No, we're too close to retreat," Lance said.
"We can't take any more shots from those ground based cannons," Pidge said.
My mind ran through possibilities of what we could do, finally using what Lillian called "thinking like a soldier."
"Get in close to the cruisers," I ordered. "They won't fire on their own ships."
We flew up next to a Galra cruiser just as it was blown apart. My previous statement proved to be wrong. The Galra would do anything to take out Voltron, even if it meant firing at their own.
Randomly, I picked up on fear from somewhere else. In Lillian.
We're fine. It's going to be fine.
Nothing.
And in that moment we took to think, we were fired on from behind.
What are we going to do?
