I spent a lot of time talking to Josh and training by myself as Keith went on countless missions with Voltron to recover the Altean pilots from Honerva's ritual. They rarely needed the MFEs, but we were always on call in case there was a threat that was unexpected.

After Voltron had recovered a total of six Altean pilots, we received word that we would be attending the Clear Day celebration on Drazan to provide security. That sector of space had seen a lot of hostile activity in the past few days.

I flew down to the surface of Drazan in the Black Lion with Keith. I could tell he was tense. More tense than usual, and I wasn't sure why.

We met in a circle with the rest of the Paladins, Coran, and Shiro.

"I pulled some strings and got each of you ten complimentary Clear Day tokens. Use them for games, foods, rides..." Coran said, handing us each our tokens.

"Where's Allura?" Pidge asked.

I was curious about her absence as well.

"She's going to stay back and rest. I just need to find something to bring back for her," Lance said.

"That's nice of you, Lance. I'll help too!" Pidge said.

"Me three," Hunk agreed.

"Let's remember why we came here in the first place," Keith said, not letting his guard down one bit. "To provide security for the event."

"Right...well...I better go find the arcade and make sure it's safe...Yeah!" Pidge said, running off.

I laughed.

Keith shot me a look.

"Uh, me too!" Lance said, following Pidge.

"Me three!" Hunk said again.

There was a pause as we looked at Coran.

"Uh, wait for me!"

And he ran off to follow the other three Paladins.

I grinned, finding it hilarious.

It's not funny.

"Keith, relax. Go have fun," Shiro said.

I nodded my agreement, taking Keith's hand.

He was stiff, but he didn't let go.

"If we're not here for protection, then what are we even doing here?" He asked, looking at both me and Shiro.

"Morale on the Atlas is low after what happened on Oriande," I said.

"Who knows?" Shiro continued, "A few hours at a carnival might just give us the boost we need to get back on track."

Keith grumbled something under his breath as Shiro walked away, leaving me to deal with my upset fiancé alone.

"I'm doing a perimeter check," Keith said, pulling me along with him.

Funny.

What?

You're upset, but you're not letting go of my hand.

I still love you, even if I'm tense.

Interesting.

We kept walking, making a massive circle around the carnival to make sure the perimeter was secure. Keith didn't let go of my hand at all, keeping a firm hold on my fingers and squeezing every now and then.
