Capítulo VIII- Baile de la Escuela
School dances were something that Patience didn't bring much attention to. It wasn't that she disliked them, they just weren't as fun as they seem to be. She was sure it was the influence of movies saying it would be a non-party night with lights flashing, blasting music, and laughing with your friends at their poor dance moves. However, if there was a school dance, she wouldn't hesitate to go.
Especially, this time. Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo planned to go to the dance. It was a last-minute plan that was made at 7:50 am today. Patience leaned against the locker listening to Leo in amusement as he smirked, "Guys, with the dance coming up, I thought you could use a lesson on how to ask a lady out."
Holding a notebook in his hands, Adam smiled, "Oh, great. Do you know a guy who could teach us?"
Leo blinked. "Me. You're gonna watch me ask out the girl of my dreams." He dreamily stared at the blonde sitting on the bench. Her aqua-blue shirt stood out in the dull halls. Her back faced them and one leg crossed the other as she typed into her hot pink cell phone. "Danielle."
Chase's eyebrows pinched together, "Danielle? Isn't she the girl who uses you as a footstool in math class?"
"That's her?" Patience pushed herself off the locker. "Why do you want someone who uses you like an object."
"Where else is she supposed to put her feet? On the floor?" Leo exclaimed. Adam, Chase, and Patience sighed. He said smoothly, "Open your notebooks, boys, 'cause class is in session."
Leo struts to Danielle. Adam, Chase, and Patience trailed behind. "This isn't gonna end well," Patience muttered.
Chase quietly chuckled, "No, it's not."
Leo placed his foot on the bench she sat on. He rested his elbow on his knee, "Hello, Danielle. Do you know how much a polar bear weighs?" The blonde shook her head no. "Enough to break the ice." Leo hopped over the bench and slid next to her. "I'm Leo Dooley."
Her eyebrows furrowed, tilting her head to him, "Didn't you send me 87 E-mails?"
"Yeah. That was a slow day."
Danielle grabbed her backpack and stood. She said, "Okay, well, see you later, Lenny."
"It's Leo by the way," he corrected her. Leo waved at her as she left him behind.
"So, Leo," Chase came forward. "What should I write down in my notebook? I mean other than, 'denied'."
Adam pretended to write something in his journal, "No, no, no, you can cheat off of me. I have 'she's not going to the dance with Lenny'."
